For those who do use Shapeways

By Gosric, in X-Wing

They are transitioning over to a system where they have renders of the model in any of the available materials so one can get a much better look at what one is buying.
Im pleased because the way they are doing it now really shows off the detail work that im so proud of.And since it takes so much longer to build from scratch rather than modify a model that is already available it is nice to see the fruits of labour clearly.

Good stuff Gosric! While the design models look fantastic, they don't always give you a clear idea of what the final product will be like.

Now, how long before they implement a system which will allow ...larger ...models to be printed in FUD? :D

I shall call it... The TIE Dephanter.

I shall call it... The TIE Dephanter.

The tie dephanter boasts an in built HLC with ion cannon, six shields four hull and a cloaking device so advanced you can fire all weapons while still cloaked.

This is great news. There has been a couple models I was iffy about getting with only seeing them in the lowest grade of plastic.

**** there is a bunch of Gosric's and Mel's minis that I'd bloody love to get some paint to but shapeways international postage always puts me off :(

The 6 winged Phantom(Geist) was a joke originally but a couple of people seemed to like it so i kept it around. It would certainly be the kind o thing to strike terror into the hearts of a convoy. As to the huge ships in FUD question. that is a good one and i would like to know as well. Im only planning a couple of huge ships none bigger than a Corvette but they are all going to be in 2 pieces so should print in any material.
