I know i'm like 30 years past their target audience but i've enjoyed the six minutes i've seen of 'rebels' more than the entire Ep1-Ep3 deabacle.

I never liked snowtroopers as it stands. Which is what I assume that is- which might confirm the rumors of an ice planet. Which is perfectly okay with me.

I'm absolutely sure that's the case, and I could not be more pleased.

I am dying to see the rest of their armor and their new blasters. I was always very impressed with the Phase I and II clone trooper armors for looking like a smooth, real progression to Imperial Stormtrooper.

And you know, it might sound crazy.

But I'm very glad The Empire is still going strong enough to be able to update the armor of its soldiers. That's really quite cool.

EDIT: Wait a minute... What does the new TIE Fighter look like!? OOOHHH. or a new star destroyer...

Oh god I can't wait.

I'm just so glad they're working with actual, physical materials again instead of relying on CGI. Puppets, costumes, sets, armour, ships... real effect > computer generated, every single time.

I just wish they could roll back time and remove all the "extras" that there thrown into the original trilogy... or at least give us an "original theatrical cut" version.

Well they cant mangle my childhood memories with EPVII anymore than they did with the prequels (the removed the force from being an all emcompassing pseudo taoist spiritual wonder to effectively a fungal infection....)

I do like the way the armour has evolved that little bit while still clearly being a stromtrooper.

I also think a strong empire isnt a bad thing, i mean loads of forces suffer the death of major generals and keep on fighting.

The us in WWII... their president died before the end, they didnt jack it in overnight!

It's well in line with the recent art we saw, and I believe this is official. Love it, even if it isn't official.

What i'd really like to see is more films with new characters during the galactic civil war.. stories between the original three.

It's like WWII.... we all know the allies win, we all know hitler dies.

Doesnt stop saving private ryan or band of brothers being exciting does it

Even more so lets use 'valkyrie' as an example. From the second you start watching it you know the bomb plots fail but its still tense as hell.

Really rich and well loved worlds and imagery in the OT that could easily have been explored a bit more rather than an 'A to Z' lets tell the entire story chronologically thing.

Sound travels in space. Just not as far. Also that's not the visor, it's just accenting. See the first photo for references on that.

No but you know what i mean. Its space opera, it was inspired by flash gordon in parts.

Its not Iain Banks or Asimov style hard sci fi, i think i wouldnt be so into it if it were.

I mean I dont really hate the prequels but i dont watch them over and over again like i do with the OT. I do joking ly say 'there are only THREE star wars films' in a comedy annoyed voice when people mention the prequels but i'm willing to get behind the new stuff.

Hopefully they listened to the, on the whole, negative reaction to the over 'kiddying' of the prequels and will have upped their game a bit... either way its more star wars, if i dont like it its not going to ruin my world or anything.

I dont *dislike* anything i've seen of the new one so far.

Then again i thought Darth Maul looked cool... he tuned out to be the most overhyped and shortlived 'nemesis' ever.
