I'd imagine they want the decimator out so rebel aces does not make things one sided for months.

While I'm a little frustrated that they're releasing Wave 5 for people before they've even shipped Rebel Aces, there have been so many releases already this year if you count the Huge ships.

It's just going to be frustrating when Wave 5 releases and I'm playing against people who have been flying those ships nonstop for two months. Imdaar Alpha was cool, because, at least in my area, the winners only had the ships for a week or two before they were actually released.

um because they used the same boat to save gas.. thus delaying the aces..

But what FFG did was have them air lift a number of cases of both RA and Wave 5 so they could sell them at GenCon. They do this quite often, because it's killer PR and Advertising for them.

Not sure what you mean about rebel aces being spoiled in wave 3. They were first announced shortly after Imperial Aces came out, which I guess technically places them as being announced during wave 3...

Nevermind that both Rebel Aces and Wave 5 have been for sale at GenCon. All the talk has been about Wave 5 because it was both unexpected, and was spoiled more recently/still had a few elements not yet spoiled. The contents of Rebel Aces is old news.

My Amazon order is predicting 18th September for aces, but it gives similar estimate for wave 5.

I doubt this, in this case. Aces was due at the end of July. People were expecting an article spoiling Nera and then we had silence for 3 weeks! Meanwhile Wave 5 hit the printer and then Rebel Aces was on the boat after those 3 weeks. By my estimate they received Rebel Aces last week (along with Wave 5 for GenCON).

Further more RPG Star Wars New Horizon was on the boat the same time as Aces and it is available as of Yesterday.

I don't think FFG wanted to announce it that soon either. But they were listed in some trade mag, and I think FFG decided to announce early since it was already out there.

I haven't seen anyone purchasing Rebel Aces at GenCon... only Wave 5. which IS surprising. Maybe I've just assumed...

I'm very excited for Reb aces, I hear if you are at Gencon you can get them, Rinehart showed all the cards to us (3 chardaan refits!!). A-wings and Y-wings are my thing so I'm excited for Test Pilot and Refit. B-wings are kinda meh for me.

I could see the 30th for Aces, but there's no way Wave 5 will be here that soon. They're still listed as At the Printers.

It had a July date in a Magazine and Funagain Games had it listed as July 26th. Funagain has been within a day on all of their other X-wing items. During that 3 week silence (end of June/beginning of July). Funagain removed their estimated date.

What you're saying makes absolutely zero sense. No company sets on product it could be selling, it takes money to house stuff in a warehouse, and generates zero profit.

It was an ad from FFG stating July. It straight from FFG.

Retailers get their dates from FFG.

It wasn't sitting on it. They held its boat to save on shipping. Now they are as they don't want it hitting stores at the same time as GenCON.

Some people who claimed to know about the Nera article (not its exact contents but it was coming) said it was suppose to posted 2-3 weeks earlier. Either there was a delay with Aces or they held the boat to put wave 5 (for GenCON) on to save some money.
