Debri fields AND asteroids

What happens if your maneuver goes over an asteroid and then lands you in a debri field?

Excellent question, but I would assume that you would still only roll one die and would suffer either a crit or a hit as well as receive a stress token.

The logical answer is that both obstacles apply their effects which are:

You would lose your action step because of the asteroid.

You would gain a stress tokens because of the debris field.

However, you could fire in the combat phase because the debris field allows for it.

Take note that regardless of how many obstacles you cross in a single movement, you still roll one single damage die for all of them, that would cause:

On a hit result: Suffering one damage (because your maneuver's template overlapped the asteroid).

On a Critical Hit result: Suffering one critical damage (both because your maneuver's template overlapped an asteroid and you landed on a debris field).

However, the reverse would be almost the same, except you would not be able to perform an attack if you landed on the asteroid instead of the debris field.

It's all random guessing at this point, honestly.

We have an FAQ entry that says you only roll one die when you cross multiple obstacles, but that's it. There are any number of ways that could be sourced, but as far as actual rules go there's pretty much nothing.

My personal take on how to play it: The current rules don't increase the punishment for hitting multiple obstacles, so I'd stick with that. You interact with one of the obstacles, but not both. Your opponent chooses which, and obviously if you're overlapping one or the other then that's the one that counts during the combat phase.

Excellent question, but I would assume that you would still only roll one die and would suffer either a crit or a hit as well as receive a stress token.

I don't think this one is that simple. You only ever suffer the effects of 1 obstacle when you overlap/land on multiple obstacles. So there is no precedent that would say you would suffer both effects.

*bad quoting*

Just what I was thinking, with the addition that your opponent would choose which effect to apply.
