the people who have bought wave 5 disappoint me (info still wanted)

By Silver leader, in X-Wing

Where is the generic pilot info for the decimator and outrider?!
Who just forgets people wanting to know that info?!

Thank you for posting the dial though.

EDIT: I take back what i said! didn't see it was posted in one of the many OMG they are selling wave 5 threads. Thanks again :-)

Already posted in a different thread:

"Yt2400 is ps 2 is30. The decimator is ps 3 is 40"

They are all busy playing with their new toys!

Perhaps you should find new ways to motivate them?

How does it feel to know there are some people opening their Yt-2400s and Decimators smiling and having fun and laughing at all of us who aren't?

Not nearly as bad as knowing there are people buying their YT-2400s and Decimators and immediately posting them to eBay. Selling out to the highest bidder like a cheap Hutt.

If I was there and could buy 2 of each. I'd put one each up on ebay myself. I'd never buy one from ebay, I'm fine waiting until they're released. But I'd have no problem taking the money of someone who just can't wait, and is willing to spend $100 more for a single ship.

Edit: Oh my god... Someone has the X-Wing core set on ebay for $189.99

I so wish there was a way to post a message to some of these auctions and warn people about spending $150 over retail on something...

I realize that might sound hypocritical of me... Willing to sell a Wave 5 ship on ebay but outraged at someone selling a core set for that much. But the Wave 5 ship is a very scarce commodity and as such naturally would demand a higher price. Which is not true of the core set.

Now this made me laugh out loud, well played.

I wouldn't do it, but I can understand the strategy: I want one each of the YT, Decimator, and Rebel Aces. If someone wants to buy two of each and then sell half of them to finance the purchase of the other half... that sounds smart, honestly.

What's hard for me to swallow is that there's a reliable market willing to buy ships at an absurd (additional) markup for the privilege of having them early, but that's a different set of decisions.

See that mindset in video games all the time, and with other collectible items. I don't get it myself, but there's a lot of people out there who feel having something before everyone else is worth the inflated price.

There's a number of games out there that have sold people beta access. Plus look at all the times there's collector editions, often going for $100+ that offer a few in game goodies, and a plush doll or something.

Yeah, I don't understand that either. I played a lot of Halo back in the day (it was a Saturday, I'm pretty sure), and the increasingly pricey "collector's editions" were just bizarre to me. You're getting the same content I am, but paying more for various items you can't actually use for anything...?

I mean, I bought almost all of my Wave 3 stuff at GenCon last year at FFG's MSRP, which amounts to a 40-50% markup (over the price I would have paid at MM or CSI. That makes me suppose I can't accord to throw too many stones; it's a difference of degree, rather than of kind. But I'd like to think that there is indeed a difference between paying that 50% markup to buy from FFG or my local store and paying a markup of 400% or more to buy from a random eBay seller.

Time value of money and ROI.

If I can wait 2 months then I can get a ship for 2/3 MSRP. If I buy one now on ebay it will probably cost around 1.5x MSRP (conservatively). That is a 125% ROI over a 2 month period. If I could get that rate of return in the stock market, then if I started with just $1, after just over 5 years I could be the richest man on the planet.

Yeah, I can wait.

Darth Malgus is on my desk and staring disapprovingly in your direction :D

It's hard to draw a concrete conclusion from that, though: he stares disapprovingly at everything.

he stares disapprovingly at everything.

Well considering where he started at, it's understandable...

Were all of the new upgrade cards spoiled already?
