Is F&D at Gencon

By ddbrown30, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Gencon is officially open. Can anyone confirm or deny if the F&D beta is actually there?

It is there, GM Phil from O66 had photos on Twitter. 6 new force using careers.

Excellent. Thanks. :)

Is that (6 force using careers) a fact, or is that speculation?

This was shared over on the G+ FFG Star Wars RPGs group:

Apparently we have Consular, Guardian, Mystic, Seeker, Sentinel, and Warrior for careers...

So are these all Jedi with a capital 'J'. As in members of the Jedi order? Or is this flexible enough for people to be other types of Force wielder? Could you be some self-trained type, a Sith, one of those spooky Dathomir witches? In short, how does all this fit into the background? Is the general expectation you're going to be heirs to Skywalker? Secret survivors of Order '66? Is it set after Ep VI? I'm really interested in the background to all this and what sort of campaigns it leads you to / caters for?

EDIT: Er... forgot to say thanks for sharing all this amongst my baying questions. Sorry. ;) Really appreciate you taking the time to post stuff here.

My question was no answered. Are the careers based on fact or speculation? Because so far, it is speculation. No one has opened the book and confirmed what is printed inside, only that the book is available.

ScooterAB, if you check out that thread on the AOR forum, 2P51 has confirmed he was part of the playtesting for FAD and is sharing details of the new book.

Check out this thread in the Age forum. Lots of pages of actual discussion. Also some GenCon folks taking on the SWRPG reddit.

Can anyone tell me about how long after Gencon the EotE and AoR betas became available to purchase?

I bought my AOR Beta from Miniature Market on September 16 of last year. I'm pretty sure it had just gone on sale that day or very soon before.

The image is on page 40 of the other thread. The thread keeps growing.

As far as I'm concerned, everything in that thread is speculation, since anyone can say they were a playtester. Plus, playtest versions of the game can differ heavily from the beta, which can differ from the final print version. What I'm looking for is proof, not speculation.

I will note that the linked Reddit discussion is a little more credible. But pictures and supporting discussion are still better proof than one or two people screaming Jedi.

The discussion at the AoR thread is credible.

LOL. Fair enough. Maybe wait til it's for sale then.

Scooter, why would you trust a book that you purchased as "credible"? Maybe someone formed an elaborate conspiracy to deceive you as to the true nature of FFG's Force and Destiny product and filled several hundred pages with erroneous information.

Believe what you want, but so far everything 2P51 has said jibs with what we've seen, and he's been around long enough that I trust whatever he says is not internet bullshittery. That info is good.

I playtested FaD too, and I support this message.

Yep. Got the book. 2Pirate is right.

Nothing gets by you. This is clearly a fascist disinformation campaign to steal our precious bodily fluids.

Go home, boys. The jig is up. Sherlock here has cracked the case.
