Damage Card Question

By auggiedog, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Greetings! I am new to the game as well as these forums, so please be gentle :)

I have a question about the damage cards. When you have a critical hit and the card has "ACTION" and then a description, does that mean on my next action after movement, instead of choosing an action like Evade or such, I can do what the damage card says in hopes of flipping the card facedown?

Sure does.

Much thanks :)

I like to think of those crits as really sucky upgrades.

that you don't have to pay for and can have as many as you want

:D

Well you can only have as many as you have hull points... Which makes the Falcon and Decmiator clearly OP'ed when it comes to these upgrades.

Technically you can have more of these 'free upgrades' than you have hull points. And you would 'benefit' from them until you are removed from play, which can be a while during Simultaneous Fire. ;)

But the fact of the matter is, that these 'free upgrades' are still pretty sucky.

True, I guess you can.

Note: Those "free upgrades" with the "Action:" header are not upgrade cards. Experimental interface cannot perform those actions.

Argh!

Now see, this is why I always tell people not to use shorthands! They work great until they don't, and then you end up looking silly when you try to Experimental Interface with your Weapon Malfunction, then it haunts you for the rest of your high school career and nobody invites you to...

<ahem> Yeah, not actually upgrades.
