krassis list advice

Krassis, HLC, proximity mines, merc copilot

2x royal guard with ptl.

That's got me sitting at 98 points, and it completely wrecked a defender/mini swarm last time I flew it

My question is, I can get flechette torps on the firespray, just to fill out the points. Should I?

Cannon and torpedos seems a bit superfluous. I think maybe I'd consider losing the Copilot and upgrading a Royal Guard to Carnor Jax. Depending on how you fly your list I'm sure it could help with your damage output, and PS8 is always handy.

I was trying to keep some HLC crits with the merc, but Carnor might split some focus off krassis and draw it to the squints. I'll try it for sure.

I've always liked Krassis + HLC + RecSpec, flying with Capt. Jonus + Determination and Howlrunner + Swarm.

That may change with all the new range 1 anti-swarm weapons, but that squad has served me well in the past.

Drop proxy mines, upgrade a Guard to Soontir. Consider swapping out Merc Co-pilot for a seismic instead, or even dropping a Guard to a Saber (or 2x Academy) so you have enough points to get Recon Spec on Krassis.

HLC on Krassis wants to survive for as long as possible, Recon Spec helps a lot there, on a ship with 2 agility and 10 hull/shields. Merc is expensive for what it does. It should probably only cost 1 point.

I have had huge success with this list. Krassis stays in range 2-3 as long as possible for HLC. Turr and Academy Ties fly in close to take out targets as needed. Combining Veteran Instincts With Turr's boost and barrel role tactics after an attack he is very hard to kill once he gets in close. He just jumps out of enemy firing arcs before they can take him out.

Oh, the regular Interceptor is totally worth getting just for Soontir Fel if you are playing competitively and can't proxy the card. He is consistently one of the best pilots in the game.

To actually answer your question and not "list beat" you, I think if you get the torpedo, you'll find you won't use it much since it's the same range as your HLC and you'll want to get that off whenever you can. I would say you could fill those 2pts better, like add a targeting computer to one of your royal guards.

Realistically, it would always be situational, in case I needed to double stress something like an interceptor or the odd defender I run across.

Actually, double stressing a defender seems like a fun thing to do.
