Wow.

Interesting choices here.

Gladiator - odd, but there are worse choices they could have gone with.

Mark II Assault Frigate - Really? The mark I is one of my favorite ships. Never been a fan of the Mark II

is the Assault Frigate a rebel ship or what?

is the Assault Frigate a rebel ship or what?

Should be, yeah. Rebel only mod of the Dread, as far as I'm aware.

Never heard of the Gladiator class and they went with the ugly Assault Frigate, but cool! More news!

That assault frigate looks really ugly, but it is hard to tell from that picture alone

The pic doesn't do it much injustice unfortunately.

What direction are those wings even facing? Geez this thing is ugly...

is the Assault Frigate a rebel ship or what?

Yeah it's a rebel ship.

That means 3 Rebel ships, CR-90, Nebulon B, and Assault Frigate Mk II. 2 Imperial ships the VSD and the Gladiator SD.

Oh chill out about the Rebel ship being ugly. When have rebel ships EVER been pretty?

Like, never. Ever. Their capitals are not fun to look at.

Was I the only one hoping and praying they would announce they decided to release Armada before Christmas!? ... stupid dreams..

They said early 2015... So I'd say you might be.

They also confirmed it will be $100 for the core, not $80 like they had on the store. Which is slightly disappointing... Just because I'd rather spend less if possible. But that won't change my mind on buying it.

I would have preferred the MK 1 Assault Frigate, but its cool nevertheless.

The Fighter packs look nice. 8 different squads per pack. I wonder what the break-down is.

I wonder how much each ship will be priced? $20-30 maybe? I might have to be strictly Imperial in this game. It might be too pricey.

I love the look of the Nebulon-B (ok, technically an Imperial ship), and also the original Assault Frigate and the one they did for Force Unleashed. But yeah, you have a good point.

Surprised they didn't go with the Mk 1 Frigate.

I actually like the MKII better.

I'd guess 4 of each... But maybe they'll have 1 pack for each type of fighter. I'd prefer that myself.

Well again going with my guess of a 5 inch long VSD. That means it should $30-35, it's the same size as the Falcon, but a bit more massive, but not as much as the Decimiator is.

The Assault Mk2, I'd guess maybe $25-30, it's not as long as the VSD but has a lot of bulk.

The Gladiator and Neb B would both be in the $20 range I'd think, 500m and 300m respectively.

The CR-90 I expect to be $15, same as the small ships from X-Wing.

The fighters... maybe $10-15?

I do hope they release a Mark I Assault Frigate down the line. I would've preferred that.

They could release it along with an Imperial version of the Neb-B.

I like both, but the version they have released is definitely my favourite of the two. I've always loved the look of this frigate. I'm not a fan of the Gladiator, though. It is the first time I've ever seen it, so it may grow on me.

I'm actually fine with the Mark II design but the Mark I is my favorite of the two.

If I'm not mistaken, the Gladiator (or another design based on the same hull, the Broadside), as well as the Mk II Frigate, are both from Empire at War.

Other ships in EAW include the Acclamator-class assault ship, the Interdictor, ISD and VSD Is & IIs, and Tartan-class patrol cruisers for the Empire.

For the Rebels, we could see DP20s (Corellian Gunship), Marauder-class corvettes, and Home One or Liberty-type MC80 Mon Cal cruisers.

Don't forget the MC-30 Frigate. I love that ship. Cost effective and packs a powerful punch. I certainly would like to see that in Armada.

I don't remember the Gladiator in EaW, but I do recall the MkII from it.

Technically it was the Broadside, but they're both based on the same hull (according to Wookiepedia).

The design looks very close, yeah. I remember using that ship a lot in EaW as it was extremely effective, but I never really liked the design very much.

I'm not crazy about it either, but hey, we don't have to buy it!

All Victories, all the time, baby!

No the Gladiator is NOT in EaW. But the other ships you mentioned are.

EaW in tabletop form. My pants REALLY need changing.

It's nasty ugly based on the available pictures.
