I've been playing around with Falcon builds, when I realized I've almost never seen Lando in proposed builds. It's all tanky Chewie or HSF. Why no love for the smoothest man in the galaxy? He seems like a pretty decent addition, and pairs pretty well with PTL to get three actions (2 for him, 1 for a friend). Maybe it's my love of alpha strikes or the desire to actually see a Falcon with some missiles, but you could pair him with another ordnance carrier to get a pair of focused missile/torp shots in the opening round before breaking away to use a TL/focused 3-dice turret. Is it just too hard to make it work?

I care.

The only time you'd see him competitively, and it wouldn't be that often, would be in an action toss list, IE Lando, Dutch, Garven, wherein everyone gets every action every turn. Such lists can be potent, but if you lose a ship, your list strategy falls apart. Not to mention, the dials are quite asymmetric, and Lando's ability to pass an action depends on his maneuver. Even with Nien Nunb, this approach doesn't necessitate but encourages a jousting position, which opposes the Falcon's strengths due to the majority of options being straight maneuvers and one of the ships having to face its target.

Don't worry, there's new love for Lando now that they gave him a crew card.

Lando and C-3P0 on a two crew ship (except huge) make a wacky defensive combo.

Lando lives the life as too expensive for his support capabilities, while Chewie and Han are centerpiece badasses. I will use Lando crew more than the ship.

I've run Lando more than Han. I actually prefer the Han crew over pilot. Lando and Chewie are a great duo, or give him 4 Bandits and have a blast.

Although I'm also the guy who has used Biggs once and hated him so much that I've never even thought to bring him again.

So what can we do with Lando and Vrill paired up?

That gives us 24 for upgrades.

Let's make Lando a real Action Hero by giving him Squad Leader and Experimental Interface, put Nien Nunb with him so Vrill can get two extra actions each turn to focus, lock or roll to his heart's content.

What do we put on Vrill or do we add a Z to sink some points?

If you're going to run Vril you MUST put something in there to cause a stress token.

I ran Lando in the Houston Regionals in this list:

Lando + VI + Han Solo

Tarn Mison + R7

Dagger Squad + Sensor Jammer

Here, his ability isn't really used much in favor of using Han Solo crew at PS9. It worked well against smaller craft, but couldn't take a truly tank Chewy list.

Lando Shines in epic play. Treat it like a command ship. Throw actions everywhere with all the rebel symmetry. Just don't sink too many points into him. VI and Nein, and that's probably it.

He's popular for dual falcon builds, but I admit I rarely see him outside that.

I made two list for a tournament, one Phantoms, one Londo Falcon with Roark Garnet and Biggs equiped with R2-D2. I chose Phantoms and friend of mine ran Lando. We battled through the ladder and in the end we found we were fighting over second place. That is when i relized when Falcons shoot at PS 12 Phantoms die and Biggs with Focus an evade token and range three will not. Only RAMMING the Lando with Whisper let any of them survive. Only after blocking the Falcon to force let Goark and Biggs get a way ant then booking it with my Cloaked tail between my legs flew back around to kill Biggs as the Falcon caught up.Fast aproching the end of our time Lando gets in range of Roark and Shoots at twelve. Whisper is now at one health and at range two of Roark. Roark has 0 shields and 4 health. Me and my opponet both are looking hard at Roark, If he dies I get a modified victory, if even one die misses or he roll one evade he wins. I roll my four red dice, four hits, now we both concetating so hard that we can smell smoke. He picks up the two greens and rolls. Double blanks.

Roark goes BOOOOOOM.
