My playing group has stolen a ship. But how are ship registers and ownership "papers" handled in Star Wars universe? Who handles the database and what does it cost to change owners and ship name?
Re-registering a ship to a new name and owner
BoSS. This thread has been covered pretty recently. Just flip through the last page or two of the forum.
We are here to help out those in need, but please take a look around the forum before asking questions. I just literally spent one minute looking through the last three pages of the board. I found this on page 3.

Also, google can be a great help.
Our GM made us all take Skullduggery checks to see if we knew of any corrupt BoSS offices which would accept a bribe to change a ship's transponder codes and registration.
5000 credits and a short Hyperspace jump later we now owned our ship legally.
It was an average difficulty check BTW.
Given the massive expanse of the Galaxy and the general background of any group playing EotE, our GM reckoned that knowing the location of someone to change the codes on a ship would be relatively trivial.
It might not even be completely necessary. With such a huge galaxy, nobody is going to have complete records or even bother to share them across agencies. Different systems probably maintain their own independent records of who owns what ship and what transgressions have been committed.

I'd have used Knowledge: Underworld personally... maybe Know: Street.
