Porkins + PTL + R5-D8 + Experimental Interface

ok it's 35 points, but it's very interesting.

Thought process:

Porkins does a TL on enemy ship. Then PTL-Focus - remove stress and roll. If Damage, use free action from experimental Interface to activate droid. Then roll for damage again to remove stress again. And if he gets normal damage he can remove them as well.

I'm thinking it would pair well with Biggs, or a Luke with Draw their Fire and R2D2.

Really good survivability. I like EI on Biggs, as well. Using his droid and getting a focus is nice.

My friends and I really like you Youtube channel, btw. We're using your "Lambda bump" mechanic with four Lambdas for our Epic tourney coming up.

On the other hand, you could roll both damage, and clear none of the damage. Lots of points. Might be worth a try, but the dice gods will demand a major sacrifice on this build. I'm thinking first born son, or a whole herd of lamas.

I think you meant a whole herd of Lambdas.....

Breaking this down further, thinking as I go:

(1) Porkins gains stress from PTL.

(2) Porkins' ability is triggered. Remove stress and roll for damage.

(3) If he receives damage, use Experimental Interface to trigger R5-D8. EI causes stress.

(4) R5-D8 may remove the damage.

(5) Porkins' ability is triggered again. Remove stress and roll for damage.

So you don't end up stressed, and you get a F+TL stack every round. And you have a 77% chance of ending up with no damage at all.

As Ryther points out, though, you do have a 6% chance of taking 2 damage, and that could really mess you up. The average overall is 0.281 damage, in comparison to Porkins' usual 0.375 damage per activation; from that point of view the combo reduces your risk by exactly 1/3.

On the other hand, you could roll both damage, and clear none of the damage. Lots of points. Might be worth a try, but the dice gods will demand a major sacrifice on this build. I'm thinking first born son, or a whole herd of lamas.

I look at it this way.... if I'm rolling damage THAT consistently, then the dice gods are in my favor. If I'm having a day full of blanks, then I'll at LEAST be compensated with a fully functional Porkins.

Oh no please don't! That tactic is sooo cheesy! I really just made that video so people could be aware of the tactic, not really to fly it! ha ha, I'm sure it will be fun though, just don't expect it to win!

Hmm building on this idea:

Luke + Predator + R5P9

Porkins + PTL + R5D8 + EI

Garven + R2D2

Two regenerating shield xwings + Home Improvement Porkins, sometimes it works, sometimes is a big disaster.

I like!

Definitely going to try this in a Furball. I play in a league at our FLGS, and we do a 35 point Furball once or twice a month with 10 or more players. Have played a Porkins build like that with Hull Upgrade in place of ExI twice.

However, in both of those I did two total hits to enemies across several attacks, but at least 2 damage to myself. I feel like it could be lots of fun if the dice were in my favor.
