Voice of Isengard strategy, and others

By legolas18, in Strategy and deck-building

Here's my problem: I can't ever beat any of the quests in VoI, OtD, or even HoN.

I think it's because of my affinity towards using themed and Mono-sphere decks more than anything. It bugs me to have Hirluin or Elrond in random places that they wouldn't be in the actual world, such as beating up thugs in an alley way. So usually, the decks I make are less powerful due to my stubbornness when it comes to Tolkien lore. But, I've decided I can get past that if it means beating the quest. So, what are some good tips for beating the quests in these expansions?

Sorry for the long ramble, but thanks in advance! :)

Dwarves, Outlands, Strider refresh, Caldara mono spirit and aggro Boromir are all decent decks, it's shouldn't be hard to find deckslists. Or didn;t you meant that?

Yes build up themes decks is fun but is nothing to do with a successful strategy. By the way did you try easy mode? Idea of Emode is to be able plsy and win with Thematic decks.

I do play mostly Nmode since I love powerplay and challenge

This is a deck I used for VoI that had a Gondor Rohan theme, so you don't have to give up on theme entirely to beat these scenarios. The deck has not been updated since VoI.

I'd recommend doing some searches in the deck building strategy forum to get ideas about different decks and strategies players are using. You should find a good deal of content for HoN.

Also check out the blogs Hall of Beorn, Tales from the Cards etc. They'll also have some strategy tips for particular scenarios or deck list.

Thanks guys, sorry for the delayed response.

I've decided that I'll give easy mode a try. It bugs to think that I'm not playing it at the real difficulty it's meant to be played at, but I think the satisfaction and fun I get out of actually having a chance to win some of the harder scenarios with more thematic decks is worth it.

I tryed this deck just two days ago (with some advice of Tracker1 and Glaurung) and (after some loss) i beated all three quests. In the first basically you need to kill dunlendings one by one in the staging area with Dúnhere, run with the others and give damage to Frodo when necessary. In the search for Mugash you need a little bit of luck and you have to run a lot. In the third mission try to play all the allies runner!! the treemen are not so badly if manage to keep the threat low, try to keep Mugash under your control but i finished this quest also if he escaped me twice!!
