Just finished playing several games with Nera Dantels on Vassal and I must say she is probably the best pilot I've ever flown.
Torpedos were all but dead before her arrival. Now torpedos will live because of her.
Can't wait for Rebel Aces!

Really? It really seems like her ability is a trap. It's bait to spend way more points on a B wing than you ever should.
Should have been a PS5 generic with an EPT.
Do you have a link to her card?
well. it is an option. options are good.
We need more context.
What lists did you fly?
What lists did your opponents fly?
Who were your opponents?
What are your respective skill/experience levels?

Nera, Deadeye, Flechette Torps x2, Munitions failsafe is an awesome way to keep phantoms or anything else with high agility for that matter in a constant state of stress.
Edited by born to loseDoesn't scare me that much. Only PS5 so if you have high ps squad she won't get a target lock in time if you fly well. Also if she's trying to flank, might mean you get extra agility from a rock if she does fire at you. Not to mention if you load her up she's easily a third of your points or more.
I've only played her two or three times on vassal and she wasn't much of a factor.
Give her the new Ion Torpedo when it comes out....

If a phantom is out of my arc, flechette torps will likely miss against 4 green, but at least she limps away with stress and I don't lose the ordinance. Flechettes are great when they miss and get to be fired over and over again, when a primary weapon shot wasn't possible to begin with.
And if 3 naked red dice manages to hit anything, that's just gravy ![]()

Jeeze, don't try so hard to prove me right about you.
hmm. I like that Nera build.
And the ion torps is gonna be great.

Why so defensive? You made a claim that does not seem to hold water and people would like the details so they can determine exactly how wrong or correct you might be.
As a person who plays Tie lists I am not overly impressed by your claims.

Theyre having a personal spat.
Would be good to know what details there were

Of course that same phantom at r3 could be hammering your B wing with four red dice versus your one green plus one green for range three. .

Seriously need the dislike button.
And in case you haven't noticed the phantom meta has become the fat falcon meta. Better use ions instead! Oh wait... They don't care about those either.

That's pretty much all he does. WonderWaaagh actually posted a reasonable question, but those are something that Ribann just can't answer, because he doesn't want to have a reasonable discussion.

This card is my dilemma Nera. It's the best EPT to make use of her card text. She no longer has to rely on guessing who is going to be in range of whatever torps she's carrying. As long as they're in range, she can send something flying their way. But there's the big problem; once you've emptied both tubes, Deadeye becomes dead weight, and you're left with a PS5 B-wing. A totally impractical, but for fun build I was looking at for Nera was something like this:
B-wing/E2
Recon Spec
Deadeye
APTx2 or APT + Regular/Flechette/and now Ion
Advanced sensors
Expensive, but packing a dangerous punch...but once those torpedoes are gone, you're left with a PS5 B-wing with advanced sensors. Even recon spec is a bit pointless at that point; while most ships wouldn't mind a focus for both attack and defense, defensive focus isn't really worth 3 points when it's only boosting one die. Again, a PS5 B-wing isn't bad, sure, but seems to be wasting potential. But it is 'wasting potential' after you've probably tagged two ships pretty hard...
I guess I'm just rambling, and it's obviously not a serious build. A far more practical one is probably just a couple flechettes, then other upgrades like she didn't even have card text. Hm.
I mean that is great, and good for you finding a pilot that you enjoy. But using her incurs a high point cost in supplying her with said tools that she is so great at using.
What was the list that you were running?
What games were you facing most of the time?
In general, I too am impressed with this ability. Really brings new life to torp cards. You can do fly bys and still shoot! How epic.
I can imagine...
Roark + Ion
Nera + Proton torp/flechette torps + Deadeye
Being an easy way to take out Phantoms. HLC B Wings are already pretty good, but now imagine not even having to put the Phantom in arc.
Dropping Roark sounds fine too. 4 dice vs 4 dice is fine.
Somewhat off topic, am I imagining things or the the pilot in the card art for Deadeye a woman? It's not supposed to be Luke is it? I never looked at it very closely and now it's bugging me that I can't tell.
I flew 4 naked Phantoms and then a Swarm against her and whooped the other build both times and I only lost 1 black squad between the two games.
He was flying Nera, Keyan and Wedge.

It's Luke, who's just turned off his Targeting Computer during the Death Star run.
