Jan Ors (Crew)

By Chris R, in X-Wing

I am not really a big fan of evade tokens personally. Probably because as a rebel player I am likely to be outnumbered and therefore be defending against multiple attacks. As such when it comes to defensive abilities I prefer those which act on every incoming attack. Like Luke's ability for example. Though with Jan Ors coming out as a crew card and making Kyle able to crap out focus or evade tokens and this give evades to ships that don't normally get them it makes evade tokens a bit more interesting to me. Especially because many rebel ships have lower agility than imperial ships and those with the lowest agility like B-wings could get some major help from this.

What do you guys think? Will Jan prove useful or should I stick with recon specialist on my moldy crow?

That really depends on what your HWK is flying alongside, for the reasons that you mentioned. E-wings don't need evades, X-wings could use them but not a necessity. B-wings and Falcons could certainly make use of them. Let's give Chewbacca/Threepio Falcons another guaranteed evade each turn. Might be worth flanking with a weaker support ship like a HWK if it increases Chewbacca's longevity even further. They are currently quite strong because they can farm 2 evades a turn, plus their standard 1 die roll against each attack. Swarms, the best counter to a Falcon previously and now, are still present but have become drastically less popular in the Wave 4 meta.

Execute Operation: SuperChewie.

I don't know... As hard to kill as I know Chewie would be like that I think you might be going overboard... I mean I am sure If you threw Chewie, C-3PO, R2, Kyle, and Jan together it would make for one tough Chewie... Especially if you could somehow work Biggs in there too though I think that would be too many points... Just seems like a heavy investment to keep one 3 attack turret on the field.
