Working on a Falcon 3 Z list and I need advice

I am working on a Falcon list with 3 zs and i need advice on whether to go with Chewie, Lando or Han. I am leaning towards Han but Chewie could keep the Zs alive.

For the Zs i want Cracken for sure. I am also considering replacing a Z with Wes. Any advice?

As someone who has played against a lot of Zs, I would recommend going with two X-Wings instead. I've never seen a Z do more than remove a shield or two, or maybe do one damage, before dying a miserable death. *In my experience*, they're just not worth the build points

I don't know if you can get your Falcon "fat" enough with anything much for support ships.

Here is what I consider essential to a "fat" build:

C-3PO (3)

Gunner (5) or Luke (7)

MF Title (1)

Engine Upgrade (4)

PtL or Predator (3)

That is a lot of points in upgrades.

The falcon is the star of the show here. All your other ships are just ancillary weapons, blockers and distractions. The only upgrades I would recommend for them would be to go up to Biggs just to shield the star ship, or points for PS to get them out of predator 2-die territory.

You would be quite surprise how maneuverable the falcon is with the engine upgrade

I've managed to keep the thing alive and come back for a win with only 2 hull left. Staying out of arcs is nice.

If you have push the limit on there you could use engine upgrade, if it looks like your in no arcs, then focus.

Even if you don't have push the limit, and just boost to get out of an arc. If nothing is shooting at you then all the better. No need for that evade token anyway.

I find with the Han and 3z build is that the damage output is low. Especially if your up against anything with high agility. The Zs just don't do enough dmg, and usually Han is either evading or boosting, so no focus to modify attack dice. Your just relying on rerolls.

Plus with gunner it's in your opponents best interest to take one damage if possible. That keeps gunner from activating and him possibly getting it worse.

Unless he only has 1 hit left, but in most cases people will just take the hit.

I really wonder how this build has done so well. Even with 3pO it is a beast that is for sure, but can still get focus fired.

The Z95 are especially weak against Heavy Laser Canons, and missles. Anything that is a secondary weapon and getting 4 dice basically. They don't get the range bonus and with 2shields 2 hull, and only 2 evade dice, die very fast.

In some games I've had a Z die before it even fires which is not good.

Never, ever underestimate the power of the Engine Upgrade on a large base ship, I've used it (and have had it used against me) countless times.

The typical scenario is having 3 ships able to fire at the Falcon at Range 2-3, with only 1 ship able to fire, at range 3, through an asteroid after the engine boost...

It turns an already semi-broken build into a true nightmare.

They are completely worth the points, since they are 12 points, You can't expect them to perform like X's, because well, they are not X's.

Z's are excellent bumpers and you want them at r1, where they actually deal decent damage. Paired with YT's it gives more consistency to your list, having more targets and being able to use them as blockers more easilly than the X's.

If he played 2 X's, he wouldn't be able to build a Fat Han list, which Z's, since 3 are 36 points, allows him to.

I prefer predator as EPT. And yes, engine upgrade is pretty good.

With this feedback i think i will change to a Wes Janson build. There are a lot of Falcons with 3po. Wes can ruin that and I was going to throw in 2 Talas. I am debating if I want Etahn or Corran as the last ship.
