Some Advice needed

By Green Squadron 3, in X-Wing

Hello guy's im new to x-wing to this point i own

3 x X-wing

2 x A-wing

2 x B-wing

1 x Y-wing

2 x E-wing

2 x Z-95's

1 x Rebel Transport

1 x HWK 290

I was trying to get some competetive list for 100 pts but im unscessfoul to this point...

Can any one give me some tips for 100 pts list and for escalation format???

I was thinking about

Luke + R2-D2 + DTF + Hull Upgrade

Wedge + R2 + Marksmanship

Biggs + R5 + Hull Upgrade

i can drop R-2 from Biggs to add shield upgrade instead of hull on Luke:)

First things first, why are you unsuccesful? Do you think you are unsuccesful before you get to the table or have you built lists that haven't gotten you anywhere and why did they fail?

4 ship lists are more competetive. Try something like Garven+Dutch+B-wing+X-wing. I like that list and it has a lot of durability and 3 good attackers and a contoller with dutch's ion cannon.

Some meta builds:

Luke, Wedge, Biggs (what you posted)

Wes, Wedge, Biggs

XXBB (with Advanced Sensors for the B-Wings)

Well i end up playing Whisper + Echo... those guy's are insane... tryed 2x B-wing with flachette torp and munition failsafe but i could'nt even fire at them:(

Thanks for the tips:) any tips for escalation?

You flew the B-Wings against them?

Next time, try making one of the B-Wings Ten Numb with Veteran Instincts (if you can get it, it comes with the Falcon or Slave 1) and Advanced Sensors.

I suggest you get both to get two Veteran Instincts.

Then Airen Cracken with VI and an Engine Upgrade (both come with the Falcon)

And a Falcon Outer Rim Smuggler with an Intelligence Agent and Luke as crew.

(or don't, it's not the strongest list, I'm building this as an example)

Ten Numb and Airen Cracken are both at PS 10, that means they will always move after any Phantom. The Advanced Sensors mean that the B-Wing can make a hard turn while still getting an action, or reposition himself with a barrel roll before moving which changes his end position. That's very good with the slippery buggers.

Airen can boost himself out of arc if needed, and when attacking gives another action to whoever is in range.

The Falcon just gets in the way :P.

This is of course based on you getting a Falcon and another VI, which I recommend you do, but that's up to you. There are other ways to battle the Phantom Menace.

You could go Bloody Daggers for instance (two Red x-wings, two dagger squad B-wings with advanced sensors) which is a tried and tested list that always performs well after some practice.

Luke + Biggs + Wedge can go toe to toe against whisper + echo builds, if you build them correctly.

Biggs Darklighter (25)
R4-D6 (1)
Luke Skywalker (28)
Veteran Instincts (1)
R2-D2 (4)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Wedge Antilles (29)
Push the Limit (3)
R2 Astromech (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Luke + Wes + Wedge is also perfectly viable against them. Since you have pretty much the cards needed for them... but you need to be very agressive and good at guessing game.

Thanks guy's i appritiate the tips will try them for sure :)

Well at this point you got enough to get into the epic play format so I would suggest taking a look at a transport. It will give you 4 more X-wing pilots and some other goodies to mess with, and give you a huge ship to try out the epic play format with. Or you could use it as scenery in standard play.

I mean come on... it's got Porkins in it. That should be enough reason right there to get it.

But on a more serious note... Have you considered getting the YT-1300? You could put Draw Their Fire on Luke and give Luke R2. That way Luke absorbs all the critical hits with his shields forcing damage to be split up a bit and taking some heat off Biggs and wedge. Biggs has to go down first and Wedge is the obvious secondary target, but if they leave Luke for last they might not have the firepower to take him out late in the game with R2 restoring his shields.

Well yes i considered it and will get it this week:)

I have seen a nice damage control build with Bigss, and Luke with Draw their fire and R2-D2 with shield upgrade. Biggs can take hits and Luke can pull them off of Biggs with draw their fire.

Will try the build's you guy's proposed today will let you know how it went...

Played 4 games yesturday with this list:

- Luke + R2D2 + Engine Upgrade + VI

- Wedge + Push the Limit + r2 + Engine Upgrade

- Biggs with R4D6

first game was against Whisper + Defender + Tie/F and i won taking Defender head on and killing him before he even had time to shoot the secound was against Whisper + Lambda + 2x Tie/F and i lost becouse of my sheer dumbnes :) started chasing whisper and didn't noticed that im lured into a trap  add some poor roll and i got tosted... then we platyed a rematch and i won:) and my last game was against some bounty hunter with HLC, Fell and Phennir and i won that one to :)

Thanks for the tips the list works :P
