X-Wing: Attrition - A 2P Campaign - Comments Desired

the action or process of gradually reducing the strength or effectiveness of someone or something through sustained attack or pressure.

A two player campaign small enough to complete or repeat. Follow all of the normal X-Wing rules with the following tweaks:

No mirror matches. One player takes the good guys and the other player takes the bad guys. The Empire always has initiative. No choice.
Played in three rounds:
{comments on amount of points per round please}
#1 130 points - 90 Minutes - Asteroids x0
#2 100 points - 75 Minutes - Asteroids x1
#3 70 points - 60 Minutes - Asteroids x2 - no large bases{necessary?}
Debris follows the same rules as asteroids. Place a new asteroid, or something more appropriate to represent debris, where ships are destroyed. We got rid of debris for now.
Both players build new squads before each round.
If you play with a * named character and they are destroyed you cannot build a squad with that * named character again. They can flee the board to survive but the controlling player will lose the points as normal. Both players keep and share a KIA list.
(Also keep a list of * named characters that got scared and ran away to taunt your opponent.)
There are no time limits. {Or should the time get shortened each round to fit the theme as well?}
After the three rounds players switch factions and go again.
Keep track of wins, losses, draws, and MoV. Declare the winner.

Please let me know what you think or point me to what others have done. Share any tips or insight you might have. My friend and I want to do something besides dogfighting, but not a campaign that takes a lot of time or a large commitment. Thank you in advance.

Perhaps, instead of shortening the time, shrinking the field? That should force ships together making the matches shorter as well. :P.

And perhaps making debris and asteroids persistent?

So round 1, asteroids plus add debris for destroyed ships

Round 2, asteroids and debris carry over, add more debris

Round 3, repeat.

But then debris should be smaller than what is currently depicted in the YT2400 and Decimator pictures because then everything will be debris, or you should come up with a system to clear debris, I dunno :P

Thanks, Dagonet. My friend was thinking persistent debris too, but then you would have to play all three games in a row...

Well, you could make a note of how many debris fields you'd need next time, some drift is to be expected and asteroids aren't pinned in space either. :P.

We added shrinking time and shrunk the field, thanks Dagonet, via more rocks. Removed debris, for now, to keep things simple.

Double asteroids is too much.

It negates the advantages of some ships and exaggerates advantages of others.
Ions become very powerful.
