I doubt I will buy it due to length of the games. I will happy play it at least once though if someone else has it.
Will you buy star wars armada?
Yes, I will be purchasing it. Timing will depend on a number of factors, but I have no doubt that my local gaming group will be buying it, too. I will keep playing X-Wing, too.
I already have a Rebel and Imperial fleet in another scale, but that's because I want to play fleet-scale Star Wars games. So, yes.
Right now, No. If it gets rave reviews and rates high amongst BGG'ers, possibly.
I waited a full year after release before playing X-wing and have no regrets waiting.
100 Bucks is a hard sell for what is not just a fairly decent attempt at a simulated "inertia" game mechanic
I'll probably play, but I'll most likely wait a while to decide for sure to see what the reviews are or see what it's like if someone local gets a copy of it.
Yes, absolutely, 100%.
Even if the rules totally blow, I'll still get the models and do some sort of mod to the old Battlefleet Gothic rules to make the ships useable.
I'll def be buying it, loved Battlefleet Gothic, and this looks like it will be the closest in print game to it.
Enthusiastically.
X-Wing is great and grew on me over time but I've always loved capital ship combat more. Eagerly looking forward to getting my mitts on a copy next year!
Can't wait. Been hoping for this since x-wing came out.
Love all aspects of naval combat, big or small.
Nope, I like X-wing and have a lot of 1:20k models, so I have no need for yet another star wars game. which will very likely have a sliding scale.
No, the best part of the Star Wars films for me was always the starfighters. That's what captured my imagination the most as a child. The capital ships were cool....but the starfighters are the heart of what I loved of the original films.
I will join if they add a third faction.
Then i will be able to complain in the forums that i want a fourth faction.
I will get it, not sure if I'll have a wallet for it when it's released though. X-wing takes priority after all
Probably not or at least not right away(if at all). I didn't get into X-wing until wave 3 and when I did, there was practically no one at my local shop to play. I was giving it until the AoIA event. Surely people that bought the game yet never came to play it in the store would show up for a chance at a new ship. 1 other person showed. 1. Since then, it's verrrrrry slowly gained a couple more people here. I somehow doubt Armada will be a bigger draw.
I'm also dubious about the amount of ships Armada will offer unless they intend to release squadrons of fighters as something to add to your fleet like B-wings, Defenders, etc... I also imagine that the Victory SD in the set is meant to be a small SD considering the Corvette that comes with it in the set. Based on the size of the Corvette, if FFG put out a to-scale Imperial SD, it'd be about as large as the X-wing game's huge ship Corvette 13"-14".
If wave 5 was the last thing released for xwing, then possibly further down the road, but since I'm still behind on xwing buying, then no.
