Will we be getting 'Eclipse' class SSDs?!?

Day 1.

So it begins.

Lol lets say YES!!! Bring it on!

Just need to buy an industrial unit to play in now...

Imagine that...:-)

OMG this is great, "Armada: Epic Play" HAHAHAHA.

Fwiw this is not the proper scale. The eclipse being some sort of EU comic book nonsense was originally this insane, but the numbers have been retconned some. It's slightly shorter than the executor now (which they bumped up a bit to 19k itself), but is still bigger when you consider that it's not super thin like the others. Expect the Executor to be this game's huge ship. Epic play armada for sure.

And now Disney has retconned the Eclipse completely out of existence. Not that this has stopped FFG from depicting other ships from the now "legendary" EU.

Although, technically, anything FFG is re-introducing at this point is actually re-entering canon, as it now has to go through the new 'unified' approval process.

Doesn't mean all stories AROUND those things re-enter canon, but the mere existence of Mara Jade, TIE Defenders, Victory-class Star Destroyers, etc... (That is, unless it gets the "Legendary" stamp on it, but nothing I've seen of FFG's has, yet , so...)

Like anyone gives a **** what Disney retcons

I prefer the look of the Sovereign myself.

Though honestly, if I were to ask for an SSD it would be an Executor so I could paint it black ( Knight Hammer here I come!).

We need the Executer

Probably not... I'd expect IF they do an SSD at all (I'm highly doubtful of this) it will be Executor class ... seriously don't think they will though. Just my thoughts

oh god no.

also the Eclipse is suppose to be close to the length of the Executor-Class super star Destroyer. That would be bad enough. and if scaled could be around 8 feet long!

I could see it as a playmat tho... "Hey lets play with the Executor in the background"

Also, from what I remember, only two were ever built. I can see a scenario based around it, but seeing the model itself would be a bit strange.

Can you tell me more of what you've heard of this unified process? Have you heard that FFG is in regular consultation with the Lucasfilm Story Group?

By the way, given that my general opinion of the graphic novels is that they we're a haphazard free-for-all, I have no qualms about seeing things like the Eclipse get the axe.

Nah.

Dark Empire is canon.

Well, we know that the model sculpts have to be approved by Lucasfilm. That is pretty much ALL we know on that subject though.

Well, that's good at least.

Of course, given the long necks on the Star Destroyers in Star Wars Rebels, it doesn't suggest a particularly rigorous process.

By the diagram provided at the top of this thread.. the Eclipse is twice the size of the Executor..

Ah, there it is. In post 4 of this thread.

Absurd retcon.

Doesn't count.

For reference;

The first Death Star had a crew of roughly one million.

The Eclipse had a crew of 700,000.

The Executor had a crew of less than 280,000.

The image in the OP is the correct representation of scale, regardless of any half-assed retcons some nozzle may have attempted.

You say the word 'reference' without a citation. Bad form.

Anyway, I have full faith that this abomination will be removed from canon.

And good riddance.

The citation is me.

As the only consciousness bearing entity qualified to determine what is canon in the Star Wars universe and what is not, I assure you that you can trust me on this. ;)

Don't make me whip out that 'stop' emoticon on you again, 'cos I will!

Even after the recon the crew for the Eclipse can still be near the 700,000 mark. While shorter than the executor it still has a greater volume than the executor.

Side note, although I really liked dark empire for the artwork and stand alone story, I don't like the emperor's new clothes, I mean clones. And the return of Boba Fett.

Also iirc dark empire, in the back section, mentions Palpatine was self trained.

What about Crimson Empire?? You can't say that graphic novel was bad.
