I hope the game design allows for both large and smaller fleet scal games. For example x-wing is 100 points. Hopefully the may range their points for like 100 to 500. So tournaments will vary and fleets will have variety.
Scale of game...
Ohhhhh. THAT kind of scale.
X-wing is at 100 points just because that is what people keep doing. I have heard of several people who regularly play 35 point games, and I personally really like 150 point games. This will be no different.
genau!
X-Wing works pretty well from 35-500 points, even without the epic rules. I expect the same to hold true for Armada.
That said, I expect Armada to be a "skirmish" level game like X-Wing is. Based on the point costs we know so far, I'd be surprised to see more then 2 ISD's with some upgrades, a escort or 3 and fighters in a single list. Maybe 3 mostly naked ISD's perhaps. Smaller ships like Vettes and Neb's will have more ships in the game, but I'm thinking a MonCal will be on par with the ISD's.
I'd guess the avg list size to be 4-6 Cap ships.
I wasn't around for it and had been wondering, how did the 100 pt tournaments for X-wing come about? At least in my area I have never heard of a 150pt X-wing tournament. And no one seems interested in the escalation tournaments here..
Basically, what came first. Were people playing a lot of 100 pt games and that's why FFG made it's official tournaments 100 pt affairs or did FFG announce that their tournaments would be 100 pt competitions from the outset?
Basically, what came first.
The rule book page 18, under Squad Building, it recommends 100 point games.

So it was in the original rule book published with the starter set.. I don't know why but I hadn't expected that to be the answer. Thanks VanorDM
Edited by An IrishmanWell if the victory is 85 you may be looking at 150-300 points as people will want ISD and ISD2's which are going to be at least double the victories costs i think.
