I'm not missing my old nokia phone because iPhone is better.

I hope that this goes the same as I would like the armada game because it's a lot more fun and better than xwing.

Time will tell.

I just hope there is some way to combine both games. I'm all for alternative rules that use a second table with X-Wing miniatures to simulate the starfighter dogfights, while accounting for shots to and from a potential capital ship just outside the battle area; for the people who don't care about a little more complexity in the game. Of course, there can be more than one dogfight at the same time... [brain explodes]

For all the people calling for Star Destroyer expansions for X-Wing, I will be the guy here calling for a Death Star. Can I get two on the board?

I would like this a lot better then the X-wing game... i feel like a blind man with a 10 foot stick trying to hit a pinata the size of a car. very little tactical in the game.

this would have LOTS of tactical.. so much that a lot of people would probably be put off by it.

Little tactical stuff in X-wing????????????????????????? DDDDDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAA HECK??????????????????

Hmm yes ? I would like to know how you think a game where people even use formations and learn how to fly them, don't use tactics.

I am very interested, but it looks like I'm gonna have to get a better-paying job.

I am right there with you. Between X-Wing, Armada and the LCG Fantasy Flight now owns me. Oddly though, I am ok with that. My soul for a star destroyer sounds like a fair trade to me...

Of course! There are 2 different models...

This game looks incredible. I was hoping a victory class star destroyer would make its way to X-Wing but now I don't need to. The only downside is that Fantasy Flight is now getting all of my money but at least they are putting it into something awesome like this! Early 2015 can't come soon enough!!!

Well,
as i first heard, read, saw the news about the Armada...
I was disappointed a bit as well.
Not cause of the game itself, or cause im afraid now my so much loved XWMG would "die". (which i know will not).
More cause, i hoped there would be any announcement for a new huge ship for XWMG.

Anyhow, i was reading as much as i could about this new game.
I kinda am digging it... we will see as far as we got more info.

But one thing i was thinking about was.

You really can play both games simultaneously.
I was thinking about that and i came to the conclusion if that is working i will MOST definitively buy this game.

When these fleets engaging each other and the Squads meet in battle... what holds you back to throw rules overboard for the Squad fight and:

ZOOM IN (new battlefield, so you would need 2x 3x3 play fields)
Now you could play on the other field a round of XWMG to see which squad wins and stays alive.

As said... here you might need to bend the rules since you wont battle that out in armada anymore.
Of course the capital ships still fight each other in the Armada setting... and the Capital Ships still attack Squads in Armada.
But as soon as it would be Squad against Squad... why not!

And, this will extend the whole game experience over the course of a whole day.

These are my thoughts about it....
I hope this will be somehow a possibility.
