Leagues/Tournaments

Anyone know some good primers/examples of league play? We have a good core group going out our local store every Thursday night and want to get a league going.

We are also working on getting the tournaments up and running soon and I wouldn't mind seeing some more examples of that too (although I've run tournaments/mega games for other systems in the past).

Where are you out of?

I play at Blackmoon games in Lebanon. Granted, that's a long ways out of your way, but you should come up and see us some time. Likewise, if you guys start running tourneys, I might be able to get a group to come down.

Right now we've got a slow-grow league going on. 30 points for the first two weeks, then increasing from there. We just had our first week last sunday and it was a lot of fun. Lot of new guys and some vets. Come on up this Sunday if you're interested and get in a few 30 pointers.

If you want to run a league, make sure you schedule games evenly. Our local club ran a Blood Bowl league. Most of us were under the assumption that games would be played fortnightly at the club, but after a couple of months it became clear that a couple of the guys were playing at least three games with each other every Friday night and their teams were so much more experienced and skilled than everyone else's teams, it became a slaughter when we played them.

Do you use seasonal kits as prize support?

Lebanon is about 1:15 from me. I will have to check with my wife and see if is wants to take a day trip at some point soon.

Thank you for the advice, I will check out everyone's info. With what I'm seeing maybe start it at every 1st Thursday of the month.

I am working with the store right now to see what they have/can get. I know they are getting the winter kit in.
