Has anybody worked out the Mathwing on this guy yet? I know a couple people mentioned it, but I've seen next to nothing on him.
Han Solo Crew
He is a must on the CR-90.
I have! A long time ago, unfortunately, and not on my work computer (because that bit of mathwing predates my employment here).
It depends on how many dice you're rolling (Turbolasers are different from the YT-2400's primary, obviously), but he's a moderate bump across the board. Basically, any time you have at least as many focus results as blanks, he adds reliability and/or damage to your attacks.
The math was done awhile back by someone that wasn't me. IIRC it came out to be like 15% better on a regular ship over either action. The decision will be hard when you roll hit, focus, blank... do you take the 2 hits,or chance it and reroll both?
Pretty pictures!

Average damage goes up by about 10%, but you gain quite a lot of reliability over a straight TL.

Is this showing that at 1-2dice it lowers accuracy? That cannot be right?

Actually from a mathwing point of view it depends on the number of damages you want to inflict.
reroll :
25% 0 hits
50% 1 hit
25% 2 hits
If you're trying for max damage, on average reroll is always better (whatever the opposition from def 0 to def 5 with focus or evade).
If you only need to deal 1 damage :
- on a naked opponent then taking the focus is better up to def 4 included.
- on a focused opponent then taking the focus is better only up to def 2 included.
- on an opponent with evade then taking the focus is better up to def 1 included.

Yeah, no idea what this graph is supposedly telling us.

Sorry, I was posting in a hurry. It's a pair of probability distributions graphed on top of one another. One is 3 dice with a target lock, and the other is 3 dice with a target lock and Han Solo (using it as focus if you have more focus results than blank results). The numbers on the x-axis are the number of successes (hits and crits) generated by your red dice. So, for instance, with Han Solo aboard, you're less likely to end up with 2 successes, but much more likely to end up with 3 successes.
Seems like a legit option for the B-wing crew slot.
FCS + Han?

I've played around with it twice on Vassal (HLC + FCS + Han), but both times my opponent focused that target down before it got its second shot, so I can't say how effective it will be.
Would be interesting when I have some time to look at the effect of large numbers of attack dice and Han crew. Especially vs targets with shields and given a certain number of extant hits.
i.e. You roll 4 attack dice vs defender rolling 2 def dice. You roll [Hit], [Hit], [Focus], [blank].
What do you do? Do the reroll and hope you roll a crit and do extra damage,
Does your decision change if the target has 0, 1, 2, 3 shields?
What if you roll [Crit], [Hit], [Focus], [blank]?
Questions questions! Might have to mathwing this out a bit.

Ok. So with TL and Han you have a 17.2% greater chance to do 3 damage. And increase damage by rpughly 10% over the course of the game. Not bad.

Well, first off, its a 10% increase in hits, not damage... and it isn't that great. If we're assuming that the person that Han is put on is a high threat target, lets say that he's going to die within 4 rounds of shooting... So now you're rolling 12 dice. Normally you'd take a TL and 9 would end up being hits. So now you have a 10th hit (9.9) from those 2 points... Assuming you get to shoot 4 times, assuming you get a TL each turn. However, that 10th hit rolled translates relatively 1:1 with an additional damage. So now you're paying 2 points to cancel out the 3 point hull upgrade the defender paid for. Not that bad overall, but not that great either.
It matches his personality well though... he doesn't care whether you focus or target lock because he'll just modify them the way he wants to.

It makes a bigger difference than 10% when you start figuring in Agility rolls, though. Because Han makes higher rolls more likely than lower rolls, even against a ship with relatively modest defense (I used an X-wing with no focus), that 10% bump in the average number of hits turns into a 15% bump in average damage.
Hmmm.
The numbers start looking quite strong when you look at the CR90 with Han + Weapons Engineer.
In that context it is very good for a two point upgrade. Especially since the corvette gets it's target locks so late in the turn.
Edited by IntroverdantSeems like my most common roll with Han on board is Hit Eye Blank.....kinda frustrating ![]()
