Asteroids

By TheGreedyMerchant, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If for whatever reason I park a ship on the rock (And we'll use the biggest asteroid as an example) and half my base is on one side of the asteroid, when I reveal my dial on the next turn and I fly straight ahead to leave the rock will I lose my action and have to roll a damage die again? Another question, if I am stuck on a rock and have advance sensors can I take my action and barrel roll off the rock or have I lost my action until I clear the rock?

Sorry for the double post I think my browser messed up.

1.) It depends on whether or not your template overlaps the asteroid again. If it does, then you'll have to roll for damage again and you will lose your action again. If not, then you're fine.

2.) Yes, you may barrel roll prior to revealing the maneuver dial, because in the scenario you described, one side of your ship base is clear of the asteroid. (You couldn't barrel roll the other way, though, because the template would overlap the asteroid.)

Your bases starting position does not count when determining an overlap, only the maneuver template and final base position can cause an overlap.

For Advanced sensors, if the side you wish to barrel roll to has a spot you can place your template so that it does not overlap the asteroid then you can use Advanced sensors to barrel roll off the rock.

So if the ship has its full base on the biggest asteroid, and as I place my dial and take my move on the next turn the template is overlapping the rock again I will lose my action and roll for damage?

yes, since the template overlapped the asteroid you suffer the damage roll and action loss a second time.

Following the example above:

Can I use Ad. Sensors to put "focus" on the ship, and then move away from the asteroid?

yes you can
