Han+C-3P0+Gunner+Title+EU

By Ribann, in X-Wing

Never lost a game with this particular build with Han. Any way to develop it? Several Z-95s? Wedge? Ibitsam w/ PTL?

This build is the new game-changer. So easy to win a game with just Han.

He who wins always is the most unsatisified....

Have you tried playing against a Whisper + mini swarm list yet? I'm curious to see how Han does.

Whisper w/ Adv Cloak, VI, FCS, Rebel Captive

Howlrunner w/ hull upgrade

3x Academy Pilots

Your thoughts on facing this list and what you'd add to face it?

I would drop the EU and trade Solo for Chewie. Add Biggs and a pair of Bandin Squadron Pilots

Out of curiosity, in what types of situations do you find yourself most using the EU, especially considering you have the Falcon Title which also requires use of an action (not that it is all that expensive, of course)?

Push the Limit. Boost and Evade each time if you want. Gunner or Luke and Han's ability take care of the offense quite nicely on their own.

Simple. Whisper with VI wrecks Han. If you have initiative you're good to go, if you don't then whisper has to move first, you use EU to get out of whispers arc. The EU adds that much needed protection, too often has whisper burned my falcons without taking so much as a hit

This was what I was thinking as well. If I was running Han (I prefer Chewie) I'd probably be throwing in Vet Instincts giving me even more options to both Arc dodge and fire first.

I don't really see how a phantom "wrecks" Han... Given since the EPT isn't used, I'd put VI in there, in which case, 3Fv2 yields 1.53, which doesn't address Han's ability or gunner, but needless to say Han should be doing ~2damage a turn (with the occasional 1)... Meanwhile, the 4Fv1 yields 2.63, but the evade and c3po make it more like 1 damage a turn.

Even if we say there is no VI, then Han is either still shooting first, or he can boost out of arc while still using his 360 turret to shoot at Whisper... I mean, its pretty much common knowledge the super falcon is the anti-phantom ship...

Yeah, more like Han wrecks Phantoms.

Um...If you didn't realize, that build is EVERYWHERE. By the way.

It's doing so well because the phantom scared the swarms off. Once the TIE swarms come back it'll die away to normal use levels again.

I played against pretty much this build

(slight differences:

Han + C3PO + Gunner + Shield Upgrade, Etahn-Abaht + VI + R2D2 + Shield Upgrade)

last night and it was brutal against my 'Echo' (VI + Intel Agent + ACD), Sigma Phantom (Stygium), Avenger Inter. and Dark Curse.

No hiding places and Han always getting first shot was solid, combined with Etahn hanging back and giving Crits out meant my Phantoms soon melted.

Took Etahn out with Echo and the Avenger but Han ruined the Sigma Phantom and Dark Curse, then it was a case of attrition and the Falcon out-lasted the Ties.

Wasn't much I could have done, maybe gone for Han with everything first but that's hindsight; and to be honest a good counter for any seemingly obvious squad (Phantoms with ACD eg) is probably a good thing, I'd hate to see the game lose the 'openness' it seems to have in squad design atm.

Tried going against it yesterday, 3 times. (Han had Luke instead of Gunner)

Lost all 3 games.

Game 1.

I rolled a single evade on 12 evade dice, with Focus.

Game 2.

I was outflown, plain and simple.

Game 3.

Ironic reversal of Game 1, i.e. Had 3 instances where I was at range 1, rolling 4 dice with Focus. Out of those 12 dice, I scored 1 crit, 1 hit, one Eye. The rest was all blanks. He didn't even need those evade dice. :)

If you cannot roll above average, and your flying is not above excellent (and you are of course flying a comp. squad), then I cannot see; barring a Swarm list, how you can wreck Han before he wrecks everything you've got.

I tried this last night, and one game got my butt handed to me, and my second I won, but I didn't feel like it was a win.

What I'm seeing is the dmg out put just isn't high enough.

The three Z either get killed before one shots and or they are only rolling two dice so they don't really do much dmg

They are very weak against secondary weapons like hlc and missles etc.

And Han it really sucked that he would only get one or two hits in.

The dice were also extremely cold for me.

I did well on vassal with this

Here is my issue with it.

In Timed games you have 60-75 min.

Without a focus and Hans ability shooting against some targets you only get one hit. Gunner never happens, and you did one point of dmg.

The Z95 just drop to easily and they just don't have a lot of dmg. Two evade and attack dice just doesn't seem like much for a 4 hp ship and if your opponent has a secondary weapon like a hlc then they really go through the meat grinder

The falcon is great at avoiding arcs but it's getting that point lead in a tournament that I see maybe the problem.

But it's obviously working for lots out there.

I was up against a scimitar x2 Both with concussion missles. Jonus with missles, and Marek steel with assault.

The first game he just destroyed my z95, one shooted two of them and had Falcon With no shields.

I couldn't roll a hit or evade for the life of me

After that game I said is nice to see Marek win a game

The next game he tried focusing on the Falcon, and even so I managed to stay out of arcs. Didn't take long with those missles to knock me down to five hull.

The Z95 did a little better since he didn't focus on them right away, but they still didn't do much. Not with my rolls.
