I'm new to X wing and although I am a huge star wars fan I don't know who all of the pilots in this game are. For example, I don't know who Echo is and I haven't been able to find anything on this pilot. I'm assuming that all of the named pilots in this game do have some sort of background. If anyone could help me out I would be very grateful.

I don't have all the details on all the pilots, you can probably find all that pretty easy on Wiki sites (the x-wing minis wiki probably has details on the pilots background) - but I do know that Whisper and Echo are both made up for this game. To my knowledge none of the places where phantoms have appeared had any named pilots.

X-wing:

Biggs: obvious

Hobbie: member of Rogue/Red squadron. He was sick during Death Star run so Porkins replaced him (he appears in Episode 5 with the lines "2 fighters against a Star Destroyer?"

Luke: obvious

Garven: Red Leader in episode 4

Wes: Again sick during Death Star (Luke takes his place) He is Wedge's gunner during episode 5, and takes down the 1st AT-AT

Wedge: obvious (BEST CHARACTER IN STAR WARS)

Y-wing:

Dutch: Gold Leader in episode 4

Horton: Gray Leader in episode 6, and a general under Akbar's wing

A-wing:

Arvel: Green Leader in episode 6 (aaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!)

Gemmer: Random guy that got named and retconned

Jake: He is an a-wing in Death Star run (he says copy that gold leader and breaks off with everyone else)

Tycho: an amazing Rogue Squadron exec. that was retconned into the 2nd a-wing that flew into the Death Star

B-wing:

Ibtisam: member of Rogue Squadron (Blue during Endor) one of the 3 B-wings that survived Blue squadron

Ten Numb: member of Rogue Squadron (Blue during Endor) one of the 3 B-wings that survived Blue squadron (no relation to Nien Numb)

Nera Dantels: Biggs' girlfriend

Keyan Farlander: Y-wing of gold squadron (only y-wing and member of gold squadron to survive Yavin) again 3rd B-wing to survive Blue Squadron

Hawk:
Roark: original owner of Moldy Crow

Kyle: only the best freakin Jedi to live

Jan: Kyle's co-pilot

E-wing:

Etahn: an alliance general

Corran: again a 2nd best freakin Jedi to live AND member of Rogue Squadron

Z-95:

Airen: Chief of Alliance intelligence, was a gunner on the Falcon in ep. 6

Blount: 2nd gunner aboard Falcon

Backstabber: fighter that the Falcon blows up during trench run

none, because Echo and Whisper are both made up by FFG since there are none because the Phantom only appears in an obscure game, and makes a cameo in EaW
