I got it when i was maybe 10, im 22 now!
I Might Be A STAR WARS Nerd...
I think Geeks know about scifi/fantasy/comic culture, whereas Nerds know about science/math/history/programing/engineering. Most are a little bit of both.
I am a level 3 Nerd/ Level 12 Geek. I took Focus and Spcialization: Gaming. I have a +3 X-Wing collection of versatility, which gives me a bonus to killing conversations with non-gamers.
Im right there with you. I can tell you where a number of planets in star wars are located in relation to each other or Coruscant, but have no idea where many actual countries are located on the Earth. I can instantly recognize a Surosub or Incom ship design, but I can't tell most cars apart, lol.
Im a bit of a Geerd I have a long standing love and pretty extensive knowledge of Star Wars, some knowledge of Trek And have a decent knowledge of real world science.
But while i can tell you how an X Wing drive system works and draw a diagram i have no idea how to fix a car.
But i am officially renaming TIEs 'Twin Internal EmDrive' fighters. Since the Em drive using solar panels to generate thrust without fuel. is close enough to the TIE (sort of) to get me excited. Yes i know it is only of use for course corrections and the like with its minimal output but that is how these things start.
Looking around me though i see the geek is strong in me. Im in a Dalek T shirt with two of the Thunderbirds, 2 Daleks and a Cyberman on the table next to me. A Yamato background on my desktop and a home made C-96 blaster conversion lying on the floor. As well as my Star Wars research library on the shelf.Oh and i design and build starships *L*
Not sure what score i get
I'm definitely very high up there.
But I don't know my number.
I think the chances are one million threehundred thousand and something to one that I am a Star Wars geek/nerd XD
I hope they really make those lightsabers soon after that discovery of that I think Canadian lab where they got to give light the characteristics of matter somewhat... ![]()
Well I did manage to, after hearing a mis-spoken pronunciation and spelling of a world, with a VERY brief description, figure out that it was Onderon and then recited its entire history briefly over the course of what would be two paragraphs if written.
Just from a little TINY bit of deduction.
"Yeah this character I've got was a security droid for a safari on a planet called Ulderen or something."
"Ulderen? Don't know that one."
"Yeah, it's got some kind of moon with a weird sith temple"
[WAIT A MINUTE, MOON, SITH TEMPLE, SAFARI, DANGEROUS ANIMALS, SECURITY DROID, ULDEREN...OL....ON- ONDERON!]
"Onderon! Onderon, that's the planet!"
"Yeah, yeah that's the one!"
"And it's got one moon- Dxun, which gets really close and that makes sense for the safari stuff, close enough that it gets these creatures called, "Drexl" and that's why Onderon only has one city- Iziz and they had these guys who lived in the cities and these beast riders and over time they settled their differences and now they're just sorta' existing!"
"Sounds about right, yeah."
Just from a few key words. Bam.
Just say'n.
What is this "might be" rubbish, Joe? ![]()
Just ask my wife what my ranking is *L*
Not sure what score i get
18...

Well I am good with people in public, and I have a tiny social life.

Remember there is a hierarchy to nerd or geekdom and Star Wars fans are at the top...
Star Wars fans make fun of Star Trek fans, whom in turn make fun of Harry Potter fans (the ones who LARP Quidditch specifically - no BS this really does exist) who in turn make fun of pretty much everyone else nerdwise.
So congrats, if you're a Star Wars geek, you're the coolest of all the nerds.

Oh furries...
Bought a Sat Nav for the car and found out I could download an X-Wing for the pointer. Nerdy?
Nah!

Hmm... just noticed... Is that TIE Advanced trying a K-Turn on Santa Fe West?

Poor furries. I feel bad for the fandom as a whole.
The individuals are aight though.
I am going to Gen-con as Han Solo and my son will be whiny farm boy Luke. Can I be a geek too?
Yes.
Yeehaw!
Will there be Anonymous meetings for this? I need to work it into my schedule
Good lord, you guys (and girls I think?) are a bunch of geeks.
No wonder I like it here.

Yeah because we need at least one Egyptian Kitty-Kat Geek among us!
I think I just found a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
Do tell.
Hey, can we move the scale up to 50?
Because that's what i would rank.
More of a Warhammer and 40k nerd then Star Wars though, because although i could tell you how a Land Raiders drive works and pretty much all the history from 40k, i don't know a single thing about an X-wings drive works and have only read a few Star Wars EU series.
