Viable Squad?

I haven't had a chance to play with any Wave IV ships yet but I was wondering if a Y/Z-Wing combo fleet was viable. I like theme squads and this early rebel one tickles my fancy. I know they won't tear up any trees or anything but can they hold their own? What would be the best way to do the implement a fleet with only these two ships?

For my part, I would go with something like this:

2x Gold Squadron Pilot + Ion Cannon Turret + Flechette Torpedoes + R2 Astromech

4x Bandit Squadron Pilot

Fly them in two group of 2 Z-95 and 1 Y-Wing. I don't know how it would go, but it should be fun to try.... maybe next game.

Gray + Fletchette X 3 = 60

Tala X 3 = 39

Total - 99

All PS4, lots of hit points, good stress dealers.

Making it 105p squad.

With Golds it would be 99p though 3x PS2 and 3x PS4

Yep my bad, but still would be a fun squad either way.

The initial suggested list would be the best bet I reckon, as Y's really need Ion to be worth a ****.

Thanks for the help. Once I procure some Z-95s I can play "Early War" battles and see how they hold up against TIEs and Lambdas.

Interesting list...however I think munitions failsafe isn't very likely to trigger, so maybe ditch all 3 and use the extra points to give cracken a hull upgrade to live longer.

That's not a bad idea. It's not a great list. You essentially have two rounds to do as much damage as possible and then try to hold on with ion turrets.

Dutch passing taget locks to you super cheap Z-95 would make them really cheap missile platforms.

If you are going with maximum numbers this is the one I'd like. You boost from Bandits to Tala to get out of Predator's killer range and to let you do some earlier shooting.

While the swarm is nice I'd probably try something with four or five ships.
