Unique Crew - More or No More?

By ccjazz38, in X-Wing Rules Questions

1) I read somewhere that you can use the same crew card more than once if your ship has multiple crew symbols. Can you use the same crew card more than once if it is unique (one guy putting in more work :) )?

2) Can a unique pilot card have himself as a/the crew member (The piolt should be part of the crew right  )?

You can have more than one GENERIC crew card on a single ship, however, the unique cards (the ones with a dot next to their name) cannot be duplicated in the same list, not even if the 2 cards are different types of cards.

So no, you cannot have crew member Chewie in the same list as pilot Chewie, but you could put 2 tacticians on a single ship if it had the room for 2 crew.

To clarify here - you can actually have two unique crew on the same ship. They just can't be the SAME unique crew.

You can duplicate non-unique crew (2 Tacticians, as pointed out, 2 Mercenary Copilots, etc). They won't always do much to help (a second Gunner does no good at all), but you can put them on there.

Unique cards go by the name, regardless of what type it is.

And then there is Limited cards which is one per ship, but not restricted to one per squad/side.

Most squad builders I've seen allow the Chewie/Chewie build even though as stated above it shouldn't.

That's just poor error detection in the coding. Something that anyone trying to create a squad builder should be aware of before even starting.

Thx all...I wish they would change it to U.pilot with same U.crew name....or duplicate U.crew/U.crew... Oh well. Thx again for the clarification..maybe they make a ship that will allow these 2 U.combos stated above....happy Star Fly Fighting to you all!

Not unless they start cloning pilots. ;)

The "working overtime" is actually an interesting idea, and makes a certain amount of sense. From a game balance perspective though, no freaking way :P
