I like the 360' ships for both the looks and their game mechanics. FFG know what they're doing. Have a little faith.

I just won a tournament with Rexler Brath and a TIE Mini swarm. I beat two lists using Falcons (one with Chewie and friends, one with Han and a z95 mini swarm.) I can certify in no way is the Defender over costed. Especially Brath. He is brutal. I landed 4 crits on Chewbaca with him.

You can never forget a 12 point academy tie. Its one of the premier blockers in the game. Blocked ships dont get actions, lack of action severely impacts how well a ship can shoot and defend itself.

I acknowledge that the current trend in the Regional results shows a dominance of Han Solo + Z95s and Whisper lists, but thats just the effect of a wave dropping in the middle of a tournament scene. I would be willing to bet good money, this time next year, the meta will be very different. I already think its starting to slowly creep away from spam PS1-2 builds. I see more PS3-6 builds, and higher quality pilots. Cards like Predator, Stay on Target and Outmanuever are adding value back to the EPT slot.

And meta is alive. Now its currently favouring Falcons and Phantoms because Phantoms are the new hotness, and a lot of people havent figured out how to fly against them, so they reach for the Falcon. As soon as the average player gets a grasp on dealing with a phantom the PS9 phantom bid will disappear and people will start building to counter the next hotness.

And then maybe, into all of this, there will be a third faction that has neither build (Falcons or Phantoms) available to it, but other really good stuff, and then it becomes a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock.

Lol I told him Defenders with HLC are a counter to both Falcons and Phantoms. He said Defenders are overcosted.

Defenders with HCLs (and Brath especially) are most definitely counters to falcons. While he said he'd rather have a Firespray for the points, it's not the counter to Falcons that the Defender is.

What I said is not about my favourite list, double falcon is boring I hate it. It takes the better from this game and turn it into real randomness and boring, that could be run by the worst player successfully, no real skill needed. Man I saw whisper taking a 6 ship swarm just alone... it is crazy, metagame is between phantoms and yt-1300.

And wave 5 looks like not going to fix this but make things worse.

And I am upset about championship prizes, they are worst than any other game, wizkid's are much better.

I still dont understand why a 3-0 is not a 3-1 in tournament scoring... really I would like to have an explanation.

Ok things wont be like I would like them to be but I have to protest and claim for some attention for what FFG is doing, then they will do whatever they want as well as I will.

Seeing as you can just simply say a card you never used before or seen in action broken the game is ridiculous.

Someone comes here asking for advice on a build, we give him the best advice we can. Someone has a rule question, even though it's clearly covered in the rules, and asked 1,000 times, we answer it kindly and respectfully for the 1,001th time. Most times with additional information about other rules or mechanics that may very well be the next question asked by the OP.

Someone asks for advice on what to buy next, we always answer with good advice, and a friendly tone, next to never "Google it, because it's been asked 10,000 times before!"

Any time someone starts a reasonably worded post about balance or game play, we have a reasonable discussion about balance and game play, we may not agree, and we'll offer reasons why, but we do it in a respectful and reasonable manner.

But when someone like the OP starts off a discussion saying the game is ruined and even a monkey can win. Or a intentional charged thread about how luck is all that matter. Or even a "Z-95's suck and if you disagree it's because you hate me!" the thread is not going to go anywhere positive.

Even the Huge Ships Suck (so far) thread which could of quite easily have gone very bad, was fairly upbeat and a reasonable discussion for the most part, at least what I read seemed to be.

Not always. You may do well in YOUR replies, but no way everyone does it this way. MANY don't. Maybe its just a few bad apples, but its not uncommon.

My earlier post wasn't offensive and was a new take on why I thought the rules for bumping friendlies (pause for laughter) were not enough. I wasn't mad at all at anyone or FFG. I truly wasn't whining because someone beat me. I haven't even played in a while. I was just thinking about the game overall. Go read the post and see where people went with it. I went through past posts and found nothing that suggested what I had in this post. I wasn't rehashing anything, but trying to get more options for casual games.

There are many that help on these forums, but waaaaay too many that just look for sniping opportunities.

Right, except it wasn't exactly like that. Read it again. I said people would do things to "cheat" rules including the quotes. I should have said "take advantage of a loophole," in retrospect I suppose. Again, no matter what I called it, it was an opinion that was intelligently defended. Most people got that in the post, whether they agreed or not.

The guy I called a d-bag, (and he is if you read many of his posts) did exactly what I'm talking about. He jumped in and said I was whining because I got beat and then made a sarcastic comment. That was his first comment about a thoughtful discussion.

That's the BS I am talking about. Hide in the grass and snipe instead of adding intelligently to a discussion or simply ignoring it. It's easier than Double Falcon firing arcs.

I feel kind of dirty adding to this stupid thread, but here goes.

I think the OP's issue is more due to his local meta (hate that term), than the game itself. Maybe the people he's playing with use dual falcons a lot, that dorsn't mean everyone does, I've probably played a hundred or more games at this point, and very few of these were againts dual falcons. The other thing is he says his favorite squad is the TIE Swarm, a wave 1 list that has dominated imperial lists since the release of the game, a dominance that waves 4 and 5 were designed to challenge. Also, these new additions are offering up more tactical options, rather than simplifing the game. So really what I see here is a lack of imagination and creativity on the part of the OP and his/her local playgroup.

No worries man, like I said.. takes a lot to offend me, and you haven't by any means.

I usually try to present intelligent responses.. but sometimes I also let my sarcastic side out.. not everyone gets it, and sometimes that sarcasm is from a mean place.. lol.. no one is immune, especially when I see something that irritates me a little..

Sorry If anyone got offended by my post, Its true my manners were not the best precisely, but was not the point of posting here.

It is just I am really upset because FFG is supporting a list that is IMHO overpowered while other ships like Ywing or advanced tie still in stone age. I love the game and the wave 5 is announced like ok, the game is going to be more and more boring because of 360º ships.

In what way do you believe that the double Falcon list is already overpowered? The Falcon certainly shows up near the top in alot of events, but not many double of the Falcon builds that seem to draw your ire. And what do you perceive Dash adds to a list that has to sacrifice something to include him?
