Two ships touching....

By Plainsman, in X-Wing

Since two ships touching are said to be in different levels vertically, they can't shoot at each other. I can understand this. But why can't the moving ship still perform an action??? They can still shoot at other sips, so There should be no reason why it can't focus, evade, TL, boost or barrel roll!

I believe taking that action away is unfounded!

Thoughts!

Any time a ship comes into base contact with another ship, it is considered to have spent its action avoiding a collision.

Any time someone refers to a ship "collision", the term is a misnomer. There are no physical ship "collisions" in X-wing unless a special rule says otherwise (such as the "Stunned Pilot" crit result, or the upcoming named Decimator pilot).

Because that's the rule?

But I suppose to answer your question from a "fluff" perspective, you're spending your action jerking the controls of your ship to not hit the other ship. You didn't have time to target lock or focus because you were making sure you didn't kamikaze....

Edit: also,

I believe taking that action away is unfounded!

Why? Because you don't like it? It's in the rules for balancing and tactics. One cool thing about low PS ships is their use a blocker and action-denier. Getting rid of that would be a huge loss to the game - remember this is also a game, and while they really try and make the rules make sense for theming, sometimes rules are there to make it a good game...

All concentration and focus goes to avoid the ship from crashing into each other. Taking away your action is exactly the right thing to do.

A car from oncoming traffic switches to your lane and the headlights are getting bigger. Time to clench your sphincter and take evasive action instead of rolling your windows open or changing radion stations. :)

Two ships touching?

I like where this is going! Heh, heh, allllright!

Not the same thing I argued. However, I think many people assumed I did. Lol

I counted 11 similar explanations when I wasn't asking for an explanation, but stating my opinion on the cheesiness of self bumping to slow your fleet down.

"When two ships collide, they don't actually collide... They overlap and because they are worried about... Blah blah blah."

*sticks blaster to his head

Yeah - I read the header as dirty as well - You're not alone.

A TIE Bomber and a TIE Interceptor "touched" and the TIE Advanced was born.

I don't understand why <insert any rule here I don't like> is a rule! I should be able to do <insert disallowed thing> anyway/instead!

That and the 360 arc is cheating!

A TIE Bomber and a TIE Interceptor "touched" and the TIE Advanced was born.

The fact that the Bomber and Interceptor are related is probably what caused the Advanced to be born with "deficiencies."

If 2 ships are merely touching, and don't overlap, there is no adverse effect. I'm only pretty sure about this. I think it was discussed before.

It's like Sloth and Kate Upton having a child. Sure you could do it, but why?

Always remember however, if two ships touch... its only g_y if you make eye contact.

If they were touching the no-no place... I would be against that.

So, if only he nubs were touching?

Haha. I should have known!

SNIPER!!!! *ducks behind iPad.

p.s. It's just a game man... Relax.

Two ships touching may lead to baby ships

It's not called bumping for nothing...

Also, I heard wave 6 has a 720 arc.... The game is broken!!!

Your right about this, it is in the FAQ
