Poor man's Biggs

I love running a bbe list with . But they get mowed down too fast because of how fun they are. It's a perfect candidate for Biggs but that would put me at 101 points running everything naked.

Is there any poor mans version of Biggs? I was thinking of draw their fire so the list could look like:

Lieutenant Blount — Z-95 Headhunter 17

Draw Their Fire 1

Assault Missiles 5

Munitions Failsafe 1

Blue Squadron Pilot — B-Wing 22

Blue Squadron Pilot — B-Wing 22

Etahn A'baht — E-Wing 32

Is there any solution I'm missing that works better?

Draw their fire only works on crits so it is not going to be nearly as effective as Biggs. I'm also not too sure about DtF on a ship with 4 HP, once those shields are gone one use of DtF could destroy him.

Well, if you didn't take Etahn in the E-wing you could take Biggs.

Fly cracken in between the two b wings, cracken will give them each an extra action each round, if your opponnent chooses to ignore this then the b wings will get TL + F every round. It's not a biggs but it will give your opponent something to think about taking out early.

most biggs are just other premium targerts, wedge for example is a biggs in his own right. laser magnet. ha.

The whole fun is etahn and 2 b's throwing down 9 attack dice with guaranteed crits. If I was allowed 101 points in like increase that number to 12 and use. Biggs to absorb. But that doesn't work.

well with craken you might actually increase the number of crits (or hits in general). TL + F with two b wings and etahn to change a regular hit to a crit is nothing to be scoffed at. Cracken might not be a biggs, but will buff the other two b wings non the less.. I don't think blount will work unfortunately, he just isn't a priority target unless you were facing a swarm and as soon as his missile is gone.. he's back at the bottom of the "hit" list.

Draw their fire is really hit or miss (no pun intend... Well okay, maybe it was just a little) with how effective it is.

One idea is to throw out a more tempting target as bait. People always complain about ordinance because it sucks to spend all those points on a weapon only to have your ship blown up before you can fire it. Try taking a Z-95 and slapping a Homing missile or Assault missile on it with Munitions failsafe. Your opponent will likely go for the Z-95 first to try to prevent you from getting that missile off, never realizing that by doing so they played right into your hand, giving you an extra turn or two to get your B-wings and E-wing lined up and firing. And unlike Biggs you don't need it anywhere near the rest of your fleet. Fly it off to the side as a flanker and get your opponent to steer towards it, letting your Bs and E get them from behind.

Plus, if they do ignore the Z-95 and go after the rest of your fleet, well then you've got a Z-95 with a big old missile to shoot up their tailpipes. ;)

Remember that Munitions Failsafe is a COMPLETE waste on Blount. Besides that Blount soaking up the crits that a stronger ship would take seems pretty logical to me.

If you're just trying to get a different "SHOOT AT ME!!!" ship I think Cracken with DtF can do the same. He may not even need DtF as action passing could be a real pain to your opponent. I could also see giving him (and maybe Blount) a Hull Upgrade so they could take a touch more damage.

Is there a reason not to swap out a Blue Squadron Pilot for a Rookie? Like so:

Biggs Darklighter (25)

Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

Rookie Pilot (21)
