We're adding the jedi from JoY to the party. Her stats indicate she has the skill lightsaber 4. What is that? I can find nothing in the CRB. She killed a guy using melee with two yellows
Question about Elaiza
The skill isn't in the game yet. One would presume in F&D it will be introduced.
It's a custom skill described in the CRB with the lightsaber. I'm AFB, but check it out or in the skills or in the equipement section for the Lightsaber.
What was funny is how close she was to the vision of the Jedi in our games: she's a total jerk - utterly self-righteous. She demands the PCs give her something that isn't hers (you could argue that it isn't theirs either, but it's in their possession at that point). And if they refuse, she tries to kill them.
The PCs weren't exactly happy to discover that these guys are coming back, in numbers, any time now...
Spoiler alert. She saved our bacon, actually, we'd been stunning Wing Guards in the holo-park when they turned it off. The jedi, creeping around us since our forceful encounter, offered to take the gem off our hands. Since it looks like we'll be going to jail momentarily we gave it to her. We have the money already. A jedi might come in handy if we don't throttle her first. We'll escape together it looks like. I love how her lightsaber "flickers," Nice touch, FFG
At the moment it says you can assign your choice of Brawn or Agility as its characteristic, things could change with F&D. I believe it says also that once chosen it cant be changed.
I would definitely preface this thread with spoiler tags or something. Especially since this is not the the GM's sub-forum.

It's the combat skill for using lightsabers. If you read the Lightsaber weapon entry in EotE CRB, you'll notice that it doesn't use the Melee skill (a PC uses only Brawn or Agility) and the weapon entry also notes that GMs can add "Lightsaber" as a custom skill for players wanting to advance their capabilities.
No other explanation is really needed, IMO...it's a combat skill, and we already know what those do. It's subject to the same uses, limitations, and creative extrapoltations that the other 4 combat skills are.

It definitely doesn't say this. This is an inference that gamers have made, possibly due to experience in other game systems.
We might see a more definite treatment of Brawn and Agility in FaD, but thus far I would make no such limitations on players. As far as I'm concerned, they can make the choice each time they form the dice pool.
Elaiza is the classic Quixotic J edi from D6 XDD
It's pretty obvious, when looking at the stat block for Elaiza, that there will be different lightsaber forms (or techniques, as they're called) in F&D. Elaiza has Ataru listed in her stats, and it says it uses Agility as the relevant Characteristic. In the fluff there were seven forms, unless I'm much mistaken, so I imagine PCs will be able to learn one or more of these and that they (possibly among other things) will determine whether to use Brawn or Agility with the lightsaber skill.
