My first Idraen deck

By Mndela, in Strategy and deck-building

This deck is good, decent quest and decent attack, but a lot of 'manipulation' of locations in play:

I played this deck in Emyn Muil nightmare, in 2 players, and i did a 92 points of score. Really good.

Heroes:

Denethor (to avoid treacheries and select locations)

Glorfindel (cause of asfaloth)

Idraen (no comments ^^)

Allies: x19

Ravenhill Scout x2 (he becomes really good now)

Lorien Guide x2 (it becomes more usefull now with Idraen)

Northern Tracker x3 (no comments)

The Riddermark's Finest x3 (the most loved horse by Idraen ^^)

West Road Traveller x2 (good to change locations, and after to commit to quest)

Arwen Undómiel x2 (no comments)

Minas Tirth Lampwright x3 (i love it, you say 'treachery' and you avoid it and more options to get other location)

Greyflood Wanderer x2 (it is very good, in a lot of situations)

Attachments: x16

Thror's Key x3 (really good for nightmare locations)

Ancient Mathom x3 (this deck needs cards, of course, and this will be the only way to reach it)

Light of Valinor x2 (no comments)

Miruvor x2 (it is very good, it gives to you several options and good combinations)

Asfaloth x2 (no comments)

Thror's Map x2 (cool for some locations)

Warden of Arnor x2 (cool, i have played it and it is very comfortable)

Event: x15

Secret Paths x2 (the wp is decent, even few, we will need at least first rounds)

Strider's Path x3 (always good)

Elrond's Counsel x3 (always good)

Strength of Will x3 (very good here, sure you can exhaust Idraen for it ^^)

A Watchful Peace x2 (to 'recycle' locations is here is nice, good combo with Wanderer now)

Shadow of the Past x2 (to 'recycle' locations that was revealed as a shadow cards)

With this deck, you never will see 3 or more locations in play ^^.

Nice idea with Ravenhill Scout! Need to try that. I'm thinking about a similar deck, but maybe with Aragorn as lore hero.

Daeron's Runes is another good way to reach cards. I can't tell what to pull out, you know the deck better, but i think that it is a nice addition.

Yes i know. When i was ready i counted 53 cards. But...., i like the 50 cards deck. So i didnt know what to quit out...., finally i had chosen Daeron's Runes.

But sure, if i shall include some card, it would be Daeron's Runes. A 53 cards deck is also good.

My main concern with this deck would be resource screw - with only one lore ally and 3 cost cards such as ravenhill scout and gildor's council it will be way too slow for the more recent quests.

I guess the songs would help, but it's a little janky.

There is no Gildor Counsil here.

You have Miruvor, when you want to play RavenHill in first rounds. If not, you can wait for 3rd or 4th round to play him.

The problem here is, ok resources, a little bit (can another player play Errand Rider? ^^), but the real problem is drawing cards. But if you have good hand, a normal game is about 4 or 5 rounds. So you have time to play your hand. Maybe you have mathom, if you reach to trigger one on yourselve, you dont have problem with cards in hand.

If it is all ok, you dont need so much resources neither so much cards.

If you look at the list of cards, there aren't so much lore cost cards. Only you need few resources for Strider's Path, and Thror's Map. You need a little more for Asfaloth and RavenHill, if you have any of these in hand you can wait a round or use Miruvor. So lore resources are not problem.

In fact, some games you end the game with Denethor having useless resources.

PD: Deep Knowledge could be a good option.
