My name is Robert Dalton and I am hoping to build a good casual and competitive group of X-Wing players in the area of Knoxville, Maryville, and/or Alcoa, TN. Personally, I think this is the greatest tabletop game I have ever played, and I am REALLY hoping to get something regular going in my area, because as of right now we don't have anything regular going. Sci Fi City of East Knoxville Mall has been very helpful thus far in offering a place to host tournaments, open play, and demos. They will order tournament packs for us if they know people will show up to events. Glad to see other people building local metas for this amazing game. I've been doing the same in the Tri-Cities area of NE TN. The Kingsport, Bristol, JC area is about an hour and half from Knoxville. We've got over 12 people who regularly attend our tournaments. Unfortuanately due to work schedules, etc. we don't play regularly but we have around 6 - 8 events per year at Dewayne's World of Comics & Games in Kingsport. We also have ties to a large play group in the Greeneville, SC area that come up to our area as well. We'd def. be interested if you guys get something going and we welcome you to come up for our events as well.

I appreciate the reply and the information. Kingsport is about a 2.5-3 hour drive for me (I already drive over an hour to get to Knoxville), but I would certainly be interested in attending your tournaments when able. As for my play group, it only consists of myself, my wife, and one of my long time friends. I am running a demo in a couple of weeks (Aug 23rd @ 12:00) at Sci Fi City Knoxville in hopes of generating more interest and building a bigger player base.

Hobbytown USA (I am not an employee of HT) at Turkey Creek Knoxville has an event on the last Saturday of the month at noon. We will be playing at their new location that Saturday. I just started recently myself. There were two of us, but three more players showed up while we were playing. Emails were exchanged, and with classes starting back at UT, hopefully there will be more. I will try to show up for your demo at SciFi city. It is a great store space and they had a huge number of Wave 1 ships.

If Knox Vegas is an hour drive for you, you may want to check out Chattanooga if you live south or west of Knoxville. Game On Chatty seems to have a weekly play group on Thursdays (which is why I am currently not attending. Prior commitments there). If you are north of Knoxville... well, Jellico Mountain is a lonely place.

I am also signed up for the Kessel Run Events.

Thanks for this information, MrTyres! I will definitely try to make that event. I live in Vonore, so Chattanooga is just as far, if not further, from me than Knoxville is. Is there a website I can go to for it? I will also have to look up this Game On Chatty you mention.

So, I looked up Game On Chattanooga. That is really cool to see that there's a place relatively close that does weekly X-Wing. I will most likely be going tomorrow (Aug 14th) if at all possible. Again, I really appreciate the information!

I'm interested in getting into X-Wing and was actually going to be purchasing my own stuff with my next paycheck. Did a quick Google to see if there was anything in the Maryville/Knoxville area and lo and behold, I found this topic! Just at the right time too. I'll definitely try to make it to Sci-Fi City on Saturday to try before I buy so to speak (although I'm already pretty committed to purchasing some stuff).

It was certainly a lot of fun, even though you did use your dirty ion cannon on poor Soontir! Stupid ion cannons.... If anyone else out there is looking for X-Wing players in the Knox and Blount County areas in TN (and surrounding counties, of course) please feel free to add Robert Christopher Dalton to your friends on Facebook and do a search for the group Knoxville Maryville X-Wing Miniatures. Also, I googled tournament packs to try and see how to get those, and I haven't found any information on acquiring those yet. If anyone could lead me to the info on acquiring tournament packs I would really appreciate it.

Looks like I'm tied up in family stuff today. I may still try to swing by and introduce myself if I can get over there by 330. We'll see. I joined the Facebook group though. Plan to keep in touch. I was there at noon and hung out for a bit, but left at 1230. I ended up running to Level Up and doing their miniature painting day until my fantasy football draft. I may have the nerve to paint a ship now.

Yeah, I wasn't able to get by there. My grandmother in law told my daughter they had mermaids at Ripley's Aquarium, so I spent the whole day in labor day traffic and tight crowds. It was grand fun. Thanks granny. Seems like the inks would work well on those ties. I guess it depends on what you're going for. You can always start over with a fresh coat of grey if it goes badly. Where is level up?

I am moving to the Knoxville area (Sevierville) early next year and am looking for a group/place to play X-Wing and other games (Warhammer: Conquest, Star Trek Attack Wing, DiceMasters just to name a few).

Any suggestions on good places to check out? I have looked at hcrealms about the Knoxville area OP efforts and I am not inspired by what I read.

Right now, five or six of are meeting every other Thursday at 6pm at Hastings in Maryville. Most the group lives in West Knox or in Maryville. There is a Heroclix night at Sci-Fi City at the Knoxville Center Mall in Knoxville (close to you in Sevierville, surprisingly not at the center of Knoxville). I tend to buy most my stuff there or at HobbyTown USA in West Knoxville. There are occasional tournaments in Kingsport
