Just as good as any imperial falcon killing list.

Extra dice without the focus isn't terribly worth it. You have only a slightly higher chance of rolling anything useful with it. I'd give him a hull upgrade instead. For the same points, it does its job--keeping Biggs alive--regardless of dice.

I think against a superhan and whatever, echo is just completely unmanageable. He's going to end up getting repeatedly popped without his cloak on. I think whisper +VI is about the only possible phantom list against it. Now the question is what to surround him with?

Whisper + VI still goes after Han in the Superfalcon lists. You still won't have your cloak up when he shoots, assuming you want to shoot with Whisper that round...

Predator wasn't in the OP's list. Neither was VI, but it's not Han Shoots First if Han isn't @PS11

I love Brath's ability with HLC..... well at least the idea of it. The biggest problem is Brath typically shoots a target like a falcon before his squad mates do, meaning the target usually has focus/evade... or still has shields. That is what decoy is for, but I have yet been able to design a viable squad using that concept.

Oh there's a way, just not a very good one. It just requires echo/whisper with decoy paired with a VI'd vader or soontir. I know it doesn't let you move last, but at least it could potentially let you shoot first (triggering ACD). But I can't imagine soontir w/o ptl.

I love that the Phantom was the big thing two weeks ago and now everyone is trying to counter the Superfalcon now.

It sounds like this is your major problem, and it doesn't sound like a list-build problem as much as a flying problem. Sure, Boost can really move a large ship, but it's still a large ship. How is he able to get out of your arc so easily? Are you maybe flying too close?

Depends if you want to fly a TIE phantom against effectively its hard counter.

I take it you want to fly your expensive maneuverable ships and the Falcons are stopping you? Give them the same treatment. Go full TIE swarm or miniswarm with HLC Rexler Brath. This kind of thing can dominate Falcons: once they get dominated they'll grow ever less prevalent and you can use the phantom again.

Wrong. Rexler can crit Chewie with his ability. He's not dealing cards, he's flipping them.

These are all good responses. If I end up keeping whisper and a swarm, if he approaches with the Z's in front and him in the rear or attempting to flank, do I ignore the Z's and try difficult shots against him or maneuvers that leave me exposed to the Z's? Basically, do I take Han out at all costs?

If you take Han down and Whisper survived those Zs don't stand a chance.

I've flown 4 naked phantoms vs super Han (with 4 Zs) and destroyed them. The trick is to get your first round to only have the Zs in range. You can drop 1-2 of them without losing a ship.

You then Evade with whatever Phantom was targeted last round (assuming it lost life) and then rip up the Falcon. You should drop it in 1-2 turns.

Then it's just clean up of the poor Zs.

Four phantoms though get destroyed by small maneuver ship (ie named Phantoms, Fel, etc).

I'm 0-3 against super falcons with 3 Z's. Although on the bright side I've gone from being annihilated the first game, to a decent game the second, and a super close game the third that came down to the last dice rolls.

In an ideal world I would do one of two fixes to C-3PO:

1) Make him not allowed to be on a ship if it has the evade action, so on falcons you have to choose one or the other.

2) Not allow him to guess "zero" to make luck more a factor.

I would try shuttles. Can't 1 shot a Shuttle after all.

Goal is to get shuttles to chase Han. FCS is a good against big ships. Just don't get outmanuevered too hard, etc etc. 3 dice guns are the key to getting damage in, as well as focus + TL shots, etc. Could also put vader on the shuttle.

Id maybe try:

Whisper + VI + Sensor Jammer + ACD

Omicron + FCS

Omicron + FCS

Academy Pilot

Sensor Jammer is also a good way to force Han to take Focus instead of boosting or taking evade. In general, Sensor Jammer on Whisper is a good choice. Could pull it off for Backstabber or something.

Another list I like for anti Falcon, strangely enough includes Alpha Squadron Interceptors:

Intel agent in general is good for know where Han will move. Also, if you get on Han's tail, the Alphas can out run the 3 Z 95s with 5 fwd and boost. Boost action on the Ints also means you can stay on Han's tail much easier. Just some thoughts.

3 shuttles and soontir.

Soontir is very difficult to kill when turtled and is an excellent counter to most ships even phantoms. The shuttles can simply wear down a falcon with hard shots and lots of hit points. Gunner is usually worthless against them.

The falcon is typically beaten with lots of 2atk ships throwing tons of red dice at it. 3p0 and falcon do a nice job of keeping the falcon alive in these scenarios.

Rebel captive and sensor jammer on a Phantom are a good counter. Stay at range 3 and take an evade action - your phantom will survive a lot longer! Also Tactician on a Firespray or Shuttle, alongside the rebel captive on the phantom, to double stress the falcon. Definitely go all out for the falcon first, then try and take out the Zs.

I've proposed this elsewhere:

2x Sigmas + Stygian + Recon

Get to the falcon!! Even at range 1 with Han dropping 4 dice, if you whiff the defense you still have an evade any only take 3. Even a crit isn't a guaranteed kill of a sigme before it gets to shoot. At PS 8 and 7 unload on the falcon. That is 12 to 17 red dice depending on the situation. Joust away!!

I think this will ultimately be my strategy. I hadn't considered sensor jammer much until this thread, but I think it's extremely valuable. Rebel captive will likely give way to recon specialist though because I just think that I'd be in better shape overall with it. I think the value of being able to use focus on offense and defense without concern outweighs the stresser.
