It looks like a somewhat restrictive PtL in a droid. Plus it lets you boost for one less BP then an engine upgrade but nobody seems to use it. Is the range 2 limit just too restrictive?
R7-T1 not as good as i think it is?
Great on Y-Wings for getting a target lock and getting out of arc.
Great on E-wings combined with Advanced Sensors and a K-turn.
In short, like a lot of situational upgrades, it's great when it works...

Why would you need an Engine? You can only Boost once per round.

My guess would be so he can boost even when he doesn't meet the R7-T1 criteria: ennemy ship in range 1-2 AND being in his line of sight.
Edited by Red CastleSo, I've found that R7-T1 is quite potent on Dutch with Ion Turret. Yes, it's 31 points. If you are decent at predicting your opponent, you can either get out of their arc with your move naturally, at which point you TL, or you get near the edge, then boost out. He suddenly becomes quite squirrely. It's a decent upgrade, but as mentioned above, situational.

Do you find that he gets targets for the points then? I've had some ships I really like but once I break 33-35 I begin to have buyer's remorse and want to scale back down... Granted the new shift to high PS pilots means that should become more common and therefore less problematic. But still.
Yeah my current list is 3 ships, Horn, cracken and Biggs... I use the engine so I can boost about when not in range or trying to get out of range... The droid is so handy at letting me get a boost, and a TL and then a barrel out of arc, plus if I have put craken in the right place i then get a focus also!
You know, I wish E-WIngs made up more of the meta around where I play… almost no one uses them so I don't get to test out how good I am against them. They seem like potent, flexible ships.
