Just read a wonderful battle report here where a team of Defender + Howlrunner + 3 TIE Fighters defeated a Han Solo build. I know that if anything, Han Solo builds are somewhat susceptible to the "death by a thousand cuts" approach of Swarms and Miniswarms.

What I'm wondering is how a Han Shoots First build should fight against a Swarm/Mini-Swarm. Should Han kill the Defender (or other big piece, usually a Firespray or Soontir) first? Or should Han and the X-Wings/Z-95s try to pick off the TIE Fighters?

Probably tie fighters. They are shooting after the bigger ship used up the evade 3po turtle, and die faster. But I have only fought a swarm twice so could be very very wrong.

any other thoughts on this?

Shouldn't Han be happy that he can defeat Phantom lists? Can't Rock be satisfied with the ability to smash Scissors, without having designs on Paper too?

If you want to have all-round victory, you're going to have to do two things:

1) Invent your own winning list, and

2) Learn how to fly it.

All the top tier falcon lists are playing against top tier phantom + miniswarms. You just have to fly well, and boost out of the majority of the firepower from the escort ties.

Really depends on support. You can't out gun them (most likely) since loaded Han is expensive.

That list should beat Han most of time. To shift the odds in your favor... Well that would be helping rebel {scum}... So I won't tell.

Does the Defender have a cannon? If not, then it's a tank. Kill Howlrunner first, then the TIEs, then the Defender last. If its Rexler then your mileage may vary.

I usually find myself just boosting out of the firing arc of the swarm and staying behind them as much as possible. I also accompany my HSF list with Corran Horn who essentially does the same thing.

The Falcon alone will die to superior firepower, just as a Lambda stands no chance against a Phantom. If you want to deal with TIE fighter swarms you'll need to design the rest of your squad with that in mind.
