Best GenCon guess???

PREQUEL SERIES ANNOUNCEMENT.

BOO-HISS-BOO!

I agree! This would NOT be a good addition!

Not feeling the Gozanti. I predict the Vigil-class corvette, as others have commented. There really needs to be a dagger-shaped capital ship to give that truly Imperial vibe. Other possibility is the miniature Victory-class frigates seen on Battlefront II --but they would have to be beautified because those were pretty boring. Right size, though.

My prediction and hope for the future if it's not at Gen Con, Gozanti + 2 Ties!

The lack of art in Age Of Rebellion, plus the width have me back tracking from the Vigil class.

Maybe a Battle of Yavin set?

TIE Avenger and a Y-wing with panels would be an interesting set.

I'm predicting the Imperial Huge ship and some confirmation with faction #3. IG-88,, Bossk, Zuckuss, 4-Lom, Dengar, and Boba Fett. Bounty Hunters - Unleashed! Just none of that prequel crap

1. Two Imperial Huge ships revealed.

One, the oft-mentioned Gozanti -class "Armed Transport", worth 1 Epic point.

The other, the recently very popular Vigil- class Corvette, looking like a small Star Destroyer, worth 4 Epic points.

2. Rebel Aces for sale

3. Wave 5 preview ships on display

4. Wave 6 Announced

Also made up of just two ships (a la Wave 5)

One, the Large based Rebel VCX-100 "Ghost"

The other, a small-based Imperial Inquisitor's "curved wing TIE Advanced"

This would "bring balance to the Force".

Huge ships = EVEN

Large ships = EVEN

Star Wars: Rebels = HEAVILY TIED IN

It sounds perfect to me.

The lack of art in Age Of Rebellion, plus the width have me back tracking from the Vigil class.

I think the lack of art is part of the reason why I'm sure it will be included. Smallest ship to look like a Star Destroyer. Tweaking it a bit to not use so much plastic = no art in RPG.

Kind of a stretch, but it makes a sort of sense to me.

Rebel Aces for sale

Wave 5 on display

Vigil and Gozanti huge ships for the glory of the empire displayed in nifty cases for attendees to ogle

out there guess:

Imp aces 2, with the tie advanced included

easiest guess possible:

no 3rd faction or mention of 3rd faction with the possibility of confirming this will always be about terrorists vs the glorious empire.

Maybe a Battle of Yavin set?

A pair of Xs and a pair of Ys and 3 TIEs and an advanced?

Why?

PREQUEL SERIES ANNOUNCEMENT.

BOO-HISS-BOO!

YOU LOVE EVERYTHING STAR WARS AND YOU WILL LOVE THE PREQUEL GAME TOO

I ain't gonna!

AIN"T!

With the scaling limitations between large ships and the fighters (which FFG is stretching to fit on the mat) I suspect we will soon see a new game system for big ships that would be far too large to play next to fighters. Frigates, Star Destroyers, Mon Cal capital ships, etc. I'd be really surprised if that doesn't manifest itself, the draw is there...

How about our UK Bully, he makes it look well awesome!

Nebbies fit right in.

:D

Bulldog UK Proved it last year.

;)

Tie Vanguard because why the hell not?

So based on everything you've seen from Fantasy Flight, what do you really think they'll show at GenCon?

Huge Ships

  • Imperial DP-20 Gunship [small enough to not point hog, large enough to be Huge scale.)
  • Imperial Gozanti Cruiser (the 70+ Meter Version in Rebels, popular & versatile)

Wave 6: 3rd Faction

  • Elite Black Sun Headhunter
  • M12-L Kimogila heavy fighter
  • Conqueror-class assault ship
  • JumpMaster 5000 Punishing One
  • GX1 Short Hauler

Cinematic Play

  • XX-9 Heavy Turbolaser (a trench run map is long overdue) - Official terrain pieces, mats and tokens produced by Gale Force 9 would be cool.

Doubt there will ever be a third faction.. no need for it.. you have good guys, and bad guys..

Ah but you are missing an age old third staple.

'Explosions, as far as the eye can see.'

The explosion expansion/faction set will probably blow... :)

FFG official terrain and scenario booklets.

3D Asteroids with scenarios
Turrets with D/Star Scenario

GW did it with their terrain. Surprised the heck out of me when people bought it .. but they did.

EF76 Nebulon B Escort Frigate as an Imperial huge ship (possibly the largest ship present within the original trilogy that can feasibly be released within the current Epic scale. Also more widely known and recognisable than other suggestions made so far). Possibly a modular ship which can be assembled/disassembled for ease of shipping, storage and transport.

Thing is, this ship not being rebel would REALLY confuse non-fluffers.

So you've got to ensure the stuff is easily identifiable. That's why I believe the Gozanti is the option here- because most people never saw it before Rebels, and it'll be known as an Imperial ship by that time- in fact, it **** near already is.

I don't think you're giving the player base the credit it deserves there Captain Lackwit. And no-one's dismissing the Gozanti as an option, either.

...See, it's not the playerbase I'm concerned about.

It's who's not in the player base yet.

"Oh, dude look, the medical frigate!"

"Neato, hey why's it Imperial?"

"Nebulon-B? huh. So that's the name."

"That's weird. Hey, clerk, dude, why's this Imperial?"

"Iunno."

See, it's exchanges like that, that will only confuse would-be consumers.

Always think of your consumers to be when marketing something new.

2 Empire Huge Ships Revealed :

Gozanti with Tie Advanced escort

Vigil Corvette

Wave 5:

On display and two more wave 5 ships released to reveal the 4 for the wave.

Rebel aces for sale in limited quantities.

I'm assuming these consumers would be the same consumers who have never heard of a VT-49 Decimator in their lives?

The Nebulon B Frigate would certainly have more mainstream recognition and appeal than either the Vigil or the Gozanti at this particular moment in time - far more Star Wars fans are aware of the ships existence, whether it's portrayed as a Rebel ship or Imperial. After all, it's featured prominently in both Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Once Rebels actually airs, this might change. Then again, it might not. I know a lot of hard core Star Wars fans who never actually bothered watching the Clone Wars series.
