Hello EotE and AoR GMs! I'm really curious to get some player/GM feedback on the Dead in the Water adventure I wrote in the AOR GMK. If you have run the adventure, I'd be fascinated to hear your tales of triumph and despair, derailings, what worked really well, and what didn't, just to incorporate some fan feedback into whatever I might write in the future, adventure wise.
AOR GMK Dead In The Water Reports
I think it's awesome that you're stopping by here looking for feedback. Thanks for your work on this system, love it all!
Haven't had a chance to switch to AoR yet with my group (we're still enjoying the Edge stuff so far, but will be transitioning over at some point), so haven't run this yet. When we do, I'll be sure to give you some feedback.
I got my copy of the GM's kit a few weeks ago, but I have yet to check out the adventure. I've been keeping busy with other things so it has been difficult finding the time.
Currently running a heavily modified version of it for me EotE group. Will do a write-up when we finish
would love to help but I'm GMing EotE and a mate is going to take on the role of GMing AoR
must say I wish Stirling was as engaged for Beyond the Rim
Sterling is pretty accessible to the fan community, though mostly through his own blog. He is also really approachable in person. He's one of the authors that I developed a friendship with back when I was running fandomcomics.com, before I was doing any professional writing.

If you click on the game designer link, you can find his Star Wars Wednesday articles. If you find one about Beyond the Rim, I'm sure he'd be happy to get comments and feedback there.
The fact that I'm on here all the time has more to do with the fact that I'm still new to this industry and I'm not buried in as many projects and deadlines as most of these other guys. Most of my fellow writers have full time day jobs, and only write on the side, which limits their time. (I have no idea how they can hit deadlines with such little time to write). I only bartend a couple days a week, and if I'm not on a deadline, I tend to have a ton of free time to lurk the forums and post nonsense.
Also, I've spent decades as a hardcore fan. I know what it feels like to feel like to sit in the forums endlessly speculating and guessing and wondering and hoping for clarifications, so I'm trying to be as accessible as I can to all you guys. Although I will say, FFG's Star Wars line devs are pretty good about doing all of that as it is. The Order 66 podcast is practically the official portal for rules clarifications at this point, it seems like Sam or Andy are on there every other week.
Anyway, I'll stick around until either you guys, or Sam and Andy get sick of me!
I've heard Stirling on the O66 podcast and he seemed friendly and approachable. He's certainly busy, I see he is contributing to D&D5e too.
My comment reads more caustic than I intended.
No worries, man.
I liked it on the read-through...very much like the open-ended/goal-oriented approach for the droid takeover. It'll be a while before I get to run it though, given our group's pace.
I read through it, but I haven't run it simply because the core of the adventure is really similar to my opening adventure for our EotE Campaign, I even named it the same thing. Replace the frigate with a civilian transport, the black hole with a planet, and the droids with a pack of mercenaries and it was remarkably similar. I even used the open-ended method for solving different problems on the ship.
All that to say I love the adventure. I think the whole setting on the Shadow Raptor makes for a really, fun, tense encounter. I like leaving my PCs with tough problems to sort out, and just when they think they have it covered another complication arises. The Event Timer is something I didn't think of, it really helps the GM keep the tension ramped up.
