Do any of you have any fun lists to expose newer players to? I want to find some things that I can throw together fairly quickly without having to dig through too many upgrade cards. I have a few of every ship but want to keep it to base pilots without stacks of upgrades and torps.

I'd say that including iconic pilots, especially Luke and Vader, are an awesome draw for newer players, rather than no named pilots. It pulls them into the game just because of the story being told. If they're brand new, the setup in the box set of Luke vs. Nightbeast and a Tie is a good start?

I have two setups I use for new players: an x-wing (their choice, Luke or Wedge) and a gold squadron y-wing (with ion turret) vs Darth Vader and two academy TIEs, or Darth Vader and Boba Fett vs Han and Luke (or wedge). Both matchups have worked out pretty well so far

Hmm sounds good. Yeah, I wasn't looking for no name pilots I guess. Just pilots without any upgrades to keep track of.

The Falcon is pretty dang good, even if it is Rebel Scum (and therefore i hate it).

For new players, i would use either:

Obsidian Squadron Pilot

Academy Pilot

Or, if they like Rebel Scum:

Rookie Pilot w/ Proton Torps
