Suffer the Alien to live.

By Ramellan, in Deathwatch

Hey guys. Some of you may know me as the guy who decided to play a female PC in my Deathwatch game. How'd i do that? By playing a Tau character in a battle suit who partners with the Kill-team (Extra Heresy! BLAM!)

Anyway, first session went well, in that I haven't died yet at least. Phew. Anyway, the whole thing got me thinking, there are in fact books and stories that deal with Space Marines teaming up with Xenos from time to time. Almost always Tau or Eldar, so I just got to thinking; have any of you ever done something similar to me? Meaning, anybody ever run into a Xenos in their campaign that they didn't immediately blast straight to the next life? And if so, how did it turn out?

There was a wonderful encounter with an Eldar Warlock. Rather than try to kill it, they kicked seven shades of...out of it, used the apothecary to create a few toxins and tried to bring it back to home base for interrogation, torture an eventually execution. It didn't end well though after an "accident" was orchestrated by the GM (played by yours truly) which caused said Warlock to bite the dust.

In Rogue Trader we suffered the occasional alien to live...just long enough to die from exposure to the void. In deathwatch I am currently enjoying the concern that the kill team is experiencing. Their Stormraven was going down in a storm and it was gonna be BAD. But the eldar (That they didn't even know was there) latched onto their ship and guided it down to the ground before flying off as quickly as they came. The players have NO idea what to make of it...the kill team advised the forces on the planet to keep an eye out for Eldar operating on the world, as if that's gonna work! mmmmm delicious schemes and stuff!

Sorry for being a killjoy but as a staunch Imperial, propoganda crazy, redemptionist member, xeno hater... TOO MUCH HERESY! ARGH! TOO MUCH HERESY!

Sorry for that but I got carried away. My group did have a xeno in it. A kroot shaper called At'Rakka'Nill or Roaring Chicken. He was a shaper but he joined up with the group. He is actually a PC who loves the Kroot and I just couldn't resist to let him in. He has survived for a long time surprisingly! His past life story is a sad one but so is his modern life story. How does it feel to be the meal decider for a Kroot tribe... then become the meal decider of the KT. So far he is still alive but my conniving, scheming, dirty (not in the way most would think), anti xeno mind will bump him off for sure...

In the (upcomming) lCG 40k conquest, the space marines can ally with the Tau aswell.

So it's a lesser heresy i guess? :)

Question: If a Kroot eats the progenoid glands of a Blood angel, is there any chance of it getting the Black rage (ie going berserk thinking it's Sanguinius) ?

Interesting question, no idea. Though I'm pretty sure the Blood Angels would go berserk if they found out about it. Eating their progenoid glands, baaaad move, bird-boy....

Burn the xenophile. Then we'll hunt down his masters and bring the Emperor's wrath to them.

We need more people like Gurkhal and me. Anti-Xeno!
