Mono Smuggler: The Deck to Beat?

http://teamsandcrawla.net/?p=942

Moss makes his plug for Smuggler Characters as one of the toughest, fastest decks in the current meta.

Let us know your thoughts!

The reasoning for the smuggling deck being better than Jedi or Jedi/Gamor isn't very sound.

Ahh, this is the differentiation. Sheer explosivity. A turn one Chewie and Wookiee protector (backed up by a LTWW), turn one Falcon/Chewie, early Dash run with HATC, et al, is going to give you a good shot at netting half your win condition. Early game setup is a breeze, unless you draw crap, which is possible for any given deck at any given time. Not only do you have that Grade-A Choice USDA Prime Beef offense, but the recent pods containing Gamor Run and Dash have given mono Smuggler the ability to also steal the Force at times, extending the game to capitalize on getting that explosivity through after a slow ramp-up.

How do you play these combinations, a turn 1 chewy and protector costs 5. There's no way to put that out on LS without an objective with two resources (none in this deck). Same goes for the turn one Falcon, these combo's aren't even real. Is Chewy and a Wookie protector really better than Yoda and a Guardian, or Kyle and a Guardian + a wolfman you discarded coming back after the struggle. I think Yoda's set adds just as much to taking the force as the Gamor objective does, and it comes with the Nudj and a tutor in it.

It just seems like all the positives of this deck are also present in a Yoda/Gamor deck, only they are doubled or better in the other choice. Yoda's single blast is called out, but remember, Han also only has a single blast, and Luke has two. The article seems to fall apart for me at this point as I thought the point was to show why it's better than Jedi/Gamor force lock.
