Are the old waves out of print?

By RookieOne, in X-Wing

Hi guys,

Just wondered. Im based in the UK and have seriously considered getting my hands on a Falcon but everywhere i've looked its not in stock. Looking at some US stores they too list it as unavailable. Have I missed my opportunity to pick one up because I've started playing X-wing late in the game? Will they make more?

Things get reprinted so you've not missed your chance, with the recent release of the tie phantoms people wet themselves so went and bought one or two falcons each, you can still get one through Amazon but you will be paying more than you should.

there may be one in my local shop.. but Not 100% sure.. lol..

The old waves are constantly being reprinted. FFG's updates page currently lists the Falcon expansion as planned for a Q3 2014 reprint.

I'd advise you wait for the reprint rather than pay inflated prices, you have plenty of other fun ships to fly until then.

When exactly is FFG's Q3?

I wanted to get rebel aces, wave 4 and a falcon together. >< Been waiting a long time.

Great stuff thank you, might ask my online store to see if i can reserve one. I was hoping to get one now, but if Im waiting I might switch out for a yt-2400 first as i've been more of a dash fan! Good to know im not missing out though

I feel your pain. Having just got into this hobby, I'd like to support my local gaming stores and have bought some ships, card sleeves etc from a couple (got to spread the love ;) ).

I've had to order the basic TIE Expansion from Amazon though, as none of my local games stores had it, nor could they order it from the distributor. My Imperial fleet was missing Howlrunner and I couldn't wait any longer.

I've held off buying Xwing expansion until the reprint though...for now ;)

If it's any consolation, my local store here still has a Falcon in stock. ;)

Thanks Rick, do you know if they deliver :P

Ffg made the game never guessing how popular it would become so it's taking them a while to get stock levels steady, they are actively working to fix it but every now and again certain expansions get rare for a month or so.

When I started you could not find interceptors in the UK.

I've decided to supplicate my Falcon urges with either an A-Wing or an E-Wing (Already have 2 X-Wings, 1 Y-Wing and a B-Wing). Recommendations?

And thanks for clearing that up to, was a little worried.

Hobojebus, was that before or after Imp aces out of curiosity?

Before aces interceptors got a reprint but it was only a few week before if I recall correctly, I own four now and they serve me well.

Same, I've got everything and the Interceptor was the last thing I got. I had two Imperial Aces half a year before I got a standard interceptor.

Personally I live the A-wing, I use it as a floater/flanker on my 100 point list. The E-wing is nice but they really over priced it in points in my opinion.

Im keen to agree with you, I bought one an hour ago :)

The same as most everyone else's Q3: July to September

Anyone know if FFG have ever put a 'production' article up? Can't seem to find one (although that could be me). As a designer myself I'd genuinely be interested in hearing how they go from choosing the next wave to play-testing and design. I know some of that may be trade secret but it might even be alleviating to certain forum posters who go off about FFG not thinking everything through. But mostly it would be really fun to read.

last possible day in September t.b.h. Rebel aces probably sooner than that, somewhere mid September.

For those not aware of it, FFG does post a bit of updated information as to where things are in a production cycle (kind of) on the "Upcoming" link at the top of the page: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_upcoming.asp

Pick "Miniatures" from the middle drop down and hit "Apply"

There's your list of where things are, and when they're expected at FFGs distribution centre in the USA.

No idea if they do, but next time you buy a new ship, look at the legal copy on the back of the box. A huge number of people are listed under "Playtesters" so I have great faith in them looking at how every ship fits into the long term strategy of the game.

Oh so do I, I was just intrigued by the overall process.

He's more than happy to, but I fear it may be quite expensive mailing from New Zealand.
