Generic Pilots w/ EPTs

By R22, in X-Wing

Imperials:

PS4 Black Squadron TIE

PS4 Saber Squadron TIE/Int.

PS6 Royal Guard Pilot TIE/Int.

Rebels:

PS3 Green Squadron A-wing

*R2-D6 Astromech: Your upgrade bar gains the Elite Talent upgrade icon. You cannot equip this upgrade if you already have a Elite Talent upgrade icon or if your pilot skill value is 2 or lower.

*A-wing Test Pilot: Your upgrade bar gains 1 Elite Talent Upgrade icon. You cannot equip 2 of the same Upgrade cards. You cannot equip this card if your pilot skill value is "1" or lower.

It would be nice if the Rebels had more generic EPT pilots. That being said, I grant that the Rebels have the two modifiers that can spread EPTs around. I think it would be neat if both sides had at least one pilot in each ship of a PS3-4 that was generic and had an EPT. It would encourage higher PS builds, more customization, but also keep point costs down since the unique pilots who have EPTs are inevitably more expensive.

A-wing test pilot is only avaliable to those who already have the EPT slot, so it's adding the option for a second, not the first. (Aside from Gemmer, but he is unique and out of the domain of this question)

My speculation is that originally FFG probably gave the Black Squadron the EPT to counter both Rebel Ships having Droid slots. Of course that doesn't explain why the Advanced's PS 4 Generic is lacking one.

Don't forget Arvel Crynyd :)

Or the defenders, whose pilots are supposedly chosen from the best of the best already
