New FFG Article

Did they even update the FAQ PDF? It looks like the older FAQ and not at the filesize the article mentions. The current downloadable FAQ as of noon easter time is not the correct 27.2 Meg file size and looks to be the same as the prior FAQ.

Was hoping to see how they would address the can you attack your own ships to decloak a phantom question.

They're also allowing Gunner and Luke to be equipped as crew to huge ships now. Navigators remain banned.

Gotta look into this... that would be a sick bump for the 'vette. This could be nasty for those PS1 Shuttles, not to mention 0 agility decimator and Imperial Huge ships.

Just think you would almost want to miss with those turbo lasers at range 5... Just so your primary could fire again with only a x2 agility.

And Brath too

Rexler Brath must choose to use his pilot ability after resolving any faceup damage cards dealt by his attack.
Any faceup damage cards that have been resolved and flipped facedown and any additional Damage cards dealt by the Minor Explosion Damage cards are also flipped faceup when Rexler Brath uses his ability.
Rexler Brath may only use his pilot ability once per attack; see “Abilities Resolve Once per Opportunity” on page 8.

Yeah, that's a fun little tidbit. Resolved that Minor Explosion, did you? Would you like to have it again? No? Well, let me play the world's tiniest violin for you while you flip it back up anyway.

I had to clear my browser cache to get the new files to load. (Ninja'ed!)

They did, actually:

Q: Can a ship choose to attack a friendly ship?[/b]

A: No.

I wish I knew if the Adv Sensors/Cloak thing said anything about the actual details of timing or is just a Phantom nerf.

I would say yes, it's a result of timing details. You reveal your dial once, which triggers both Advanced Sensors and any cloak token a ship has. But if you use Advanced Sensors to cloak, the token doesn't travel back in time in order to be triggered--it has to wait until the next opportunity.

As always, I really wish we had actual rules for this stuff.

Loving the huge ship change. Start out swinging. :P

While they mention it in the article, I'm struggling to find it in the updated FAQ. Anyone have a page number for Huge ships starting at full energy?

This was actually a question? Huh.

Some people wanted to use Assault Missiles on their own ship to cause the splash damage on nearby enemies.

Phantom with Adv Sensors:
If a TIE Phantom uses Advanced Sensors to perform a
cloak action, it cannot immediately decloak.

Well crud. There goes that Shadow Squad list with Stygium Particle Accelerator and Adv Sensors. And pretty much any interest I had in playing low PS Phantoms.

FAQ page 16, bottom right:

Q: Do huge ships begin missions with energy?

A: Unless specified by a specific mission, huge ships begin each mission with no energy. In the Epic Dogfight and Team Epic tournament formats, each huge ship begins the match with energy on its ship card up to its energy limit.

I didn't know tat Failsafe still let the stress go through even if it didn't hit in the flechette torps. do you think the same is true for something like Assault Missiles?

Flechettes deal stress when you attack with them, regardless of whether they hit. But you can't get the splash damage from Assault Missiles (which requires hitting) and also trigger Munitions Failsafe (which requires missing).

what about with Lt Blount? that would be a wicked combo.

Lieutenant Blount can't ever trigger Munitions Failsafe.

Page 2 of the EPIC Tournament Rules "Epic Dogfight Squad Deployment Procedure" Step 8...

Players assign Energy tokens to each of their Huge ships up to its
energy limit.

So technically this is tourney rules only, regular Epic matches seem to be setup the same. Though most people consider tourney rules to be rules for regular play as well.

Actually, Munitions Failsafe is completely useless on Blount, since he always counts as hitting and would never get to use it.

To activate an ability that only triggers from attacking, and only friendly ships are in range and fire arc.

Ah, thanks. Needed to clear the cache on the epic tournament rules. Dunno how I missed it in the main FAQ though...

Blinded pilot!

New BR looks fine, it can still get out of arcs and change range to hinder your enemies or help you (Dash!).
