We had 3 games 2 hours each lost Chewe in the first round to a mix of rebels, only had front crippled in the second match to 2 BH, 1 Defender each with HLC, Jonus with bomb, Rhymer with a lot of stuff and some other upgrades mixed in then only the rear crippled in the third against another corvette some B wings and Blount almost lost the corvette in that match.

Now my bragging is over I have a question I had 3 Tactician and 3 Quad Lasers if a ship is in range 2 of all 3 of my Quad Lasers can all 3 Tactician trigger for all 3 attacks giving the target ship 9 stress tokens?

I believe it can and the ruling on the day said it could but I would like to know if everyone else agrees. Also Quad lasers let you spend 1 energy to perform the attack again if it misses could this mean the target ship could receive 18 stress after some bad rolls? The consensus was no as card effect can only be resolved once

So could I give the target ship 3 stress from 3 attacks, 9 stress from 3 attacks or possibly max stress 18 form 6 attacks after bad dice rolls. Luckily whatever we decide it would not have changed the outcome of any of the games. what do you think?

The card effect can happen once per opportunity, which would be each attack. Tactician stacks just like Mercenary Copilot, so I see no reason why not... though, I also think that's more than a little overkill for just one ship.

3 Tacticians and 3 Quadlasers can indeed dish out 18 stress in a turn granted you have the energy and each first attach with a Quad Laser misses.

The once per opportunity is once per attack and since you get 3-6 attacks and each Tactician grants a stress token per Range 2 attack regardless of if you hit or miss, if all attacks are Range 2 you deliver 3 stress per attack.

You could easily shoot different ships to distribute the stress as well. 3 or 6 stress tokens on a ship is bad enough.

18. Each tactician triggers separately on each shot, with a potential of two shots per gun. And the "once per opportunity" rule doesn't apply here because there are two separate attacks generating two separate opportunities.

Of course it's a pretty weak strategy. You're probably going to kill your target with that many shots, and even if you manage to put that many stress tokens on a single target it's just one ship out of 300 points. And the difference between 18 stress tokens and 2-3 stress tokens is pretty much nonexistent, your target will almost certainly be dead before it can clear anywhere near that many. Instead of paying points for stress overkill put those points and crew slots into dealing more damage or keeping your ships on the table longer.

Good to know my trick is "legal" but i won’t be running it again despite going 3-0. In the matches it was good stacking up the stress on my opponent so they they can’t modify dice when they attack so the corvette can live longer which helped but the biggest help was pushing the corvette up to PS 12. All that fire power shooting first is what really made the differences I’m also thinking Gunner team is a must I needed a way to modify my attack dice will have to play test it

The main reason for so many Tacticians was because I thought i would be facing a lot of phantoms but not a single one on the day also it was sad that out of 11 players (I think) only 2 corvette and 1 transport it was only 200pt games but I was hoping to see more huge ships maybe we just need to get the Imps a big ship

True but I must say it sounds quite amusing to do that to someone haha. I can only imagine 18 stress on a ship "uh does anyone have anymore stress tokens? I'm sorry I didn't bring 18 since I didn't forsee receiving 18 stress tokens at once". I think I would just count out 18 and just drop all of them at once on the ship receiving them haha.

You dish out 18 stress tokens....

And then realize you were shooting at Tycho. :facepalm

I bring a D20 for stacking focus on the HWK. could be used the same way.

Gunner has just been ruled ok for EPIC Tourney... While it doesn't work well with tactician... with that many guns could be well worth the points and slot.

I just wrote 6 S or 9 S on a piece of paper and put it next to the ship. I think it counts as 3rd party tokens :P

you dont mean on a huge ship do you. rule book said no
