If you're getting to the point where you want to truly test a hand you are dealt, instead of building a list YOU have created, instead have your opponent create your 100pt list....

...as poorly as possible!

There are several conditions to make it plausible. The first is if you equip something (i.e. Munitions Failsafe), you have to use it for the purpose it was designed. In other words, you cannot waste points for the sake of wasting points. For example, you can't add Munitions failsafe to an A-wing and NOT equip it with some sort of secondary weapon. You can't add the Targeting Computer Modification to a ship that already has a targeting computer. You get the point.

The second is you cannot use two of the same type of ship. Each ship has to be different. If you choose a TIE Advanced, you only get one.

The third is it must total 98-100pts.

Both of you make a list for the other to run. Make it as terrible as possible. Then see how good of a pilot you are to make that list work.

HWK without a turret is too easy. one measly attack dice, the ship is meant to have a turret.

Good luck winning anything with that. The ORS is your best ship but spends 12 points on useless garbage, the HWK is probably the worst 30-point ship you could possibly build, and the poor y-wing has three action-spending upgrades and can't really benefit from any of them.

iPeregrine; I feel my Disposable heroes squad is a serious contender when it comes to nigh impossible to win with. :D

And here's a "fun" imperial list:

Yorr + sensor jammer + autoblaster + flight instructor x2 (they stack, so not technically wasted points) + ST-321 + stealth device (47)

Jonus + APT x2 + cluster missiles + expose + proton bombs + engine upgrade (51)

So that's a two-ship list with a laughably over-upgraded shuttle that doesn't have either of the upgrades required to make shuttles viable, and a TIE bomber with a giant pile of secondary weapons it will never survive to fire along with the worst EPT in the game (which will of course never be used). I think this one might actually be worse than the rebel list, kill one bomber and the game is effectively over.

Here's one I just cooked up. Of course, if you're allowed to run multiple ships of the same type, then I think a bunch of Rebel Operatives with some dumb upgrades takes the cake, but if they all have to be different, this is what I got:

"Dutch" Vander + Shield Upgrade + R2-F2 + Advanced Proton Torpedoes x2 (42)

Black moon squadron pilot + R2-D6 + deadeye + APT + FCS

Too useful. Deadeye + APT is a combo that actually works (no, you won't get a focus + TL stack, but 5 dice is still good), and costs fewer points than expose + APT. And the FCS is much more useful than a sensor jammer, but costs fewer points. This highlights the point of "bad list" competitions: the way to win is to dump as many points as possible into upgrades, prefereably upgrades that don't help very much. If you have more than three ships in your list you're doing it wrong, and two is a much better goal to aim for.

And of course if you don't have a HWK with Luke you're really doing it wrong.

I would love to see a HWK on the board with gunner/luke.

Here's another one for the Imperials. It features what may actually be the hardest to kill Shuttle ever, but that doesn't do you much good when it can't actually do anything:

Still too many ships and too few upgrades. For example, your shuttle hardly has anything at all. Dual flight instructors is a great way to waste 8 points (you'll rarely get even one re-roll, and two is almost impossible) and stealth devices and sensor jammers are almost always wasted points on a 1-agility ship. If you make these "upgrades" you can completely remove the obsidian pilot.

And of course your bomber can get the same treatment. Any ship that has an EPT should have expose, especially ships that have lots of secondary weapons and will never use their primary gun. And an engine upgrade is a great choice for a ship that can never afford to use a boost action instead of a target lock, while a proton bomb is a safe bet on a ship that will not survive to drop it. Make these "upgrades" and you can remove the black squadron pilot.

Attempt 2 for rebels:

Rebel operative+ blaster turret + Luke + Engine Upgrade

Knave squadron + enhanced Scopes + engine upgrade

Gold squadron pilot + blaster turret + proton torpedoes + APT+ R2-D6 + expose

Edit: I moved the APT to the gold.

Can't use R2-D6 on the gold, however you could swap its standard torp to EU and switch the Knave for Etahn. He'll have a lot of trouble getting anything in arc that way, and it makes EU even more useless there.
