So the Force and Destiny Beta is almost a guarantee as we've gotten a beta at each of the last GenCons, but what other news do you think we'll find out about? News of the next EotE or AoR sourcebook? Specialization decks for AoR and Far Horizons? There haven't been many announcements of late and I'm hoping that GenCon brings us a lot of news for the Fall and Winter.
What Should We Expect to Hear from GenCon?
They had EtU on display at Gen con last year I believe.
had that been announced before GenCon though? i'm wondering if there will be any big surprises.
I think Utinni will be a commonly heard phrase at GenCon no matter if it is from the X-Wing miniature table as well as the RPG tables at FFG. Plus "Oh, that is so cool/awesome/excellent/horrible/terrifying" and "I can do what?"
Oh you were talking official announcements so no clue.
We probably won't know much ahead of time; FFG is notoriously close to the vest with info until they are ready to make announcements. I know it's hard to wait but I think it's our only recourse!
If you look at statements from FFG in the past and actually more recently Catalyst Game Labs announcement is another good example it is best to have the bird in hand then the two in the bush. They keep putting out there they don't want to repeat their past mistakes so they do not announce anything until it is literally something they can pull out of a box that just got shipped off a boat to them. So the fact that FFG has not announced anything makes me think they do not have anything physically in hand. So I would say in about 2 weeks there will probably be a few more announcements in regards to everything not just awesome Star Wars stuff.
We'll probably hear about upcoming releases for this year, for both the EotE and AoR product lines.
Guessing the Force and Destiny Beta will be one of the big talking points for SW-related product at the In-Flight Report seminar.
Beyond that, it's anyone's guess.
Wasn't EtU out in Q1 this year? That was displayed at Gencon so I would think they will announce a good portion or all of what is coming up in Q4 at least.

EtU was originally slated for a Q42013 release date, but got pushed back for reasons unknown.

I'd be all for a superhero game with the narrative dice and I couldn't care less on the setting presented.
How about the dice bags they advertised awhile back? I hope they have them there at GC. I want a stormtrooper bag.
Q4 releases would be my guess.
My outside hail mary hope would be some kernel of information on the game line post F&D. I know it is beta but we r in the last year and some kind of idea on the direction, longevity of the license and such would be nice.
when is the flight report?

I'd kinda like them to concentrate on the source books like the career, sectors, etc... (as there will be 2 lines going, plus F&D core), and adventures. Maybe some maps, or dare I say a minis line.
I really don't wish for more core books after F&D, at least for a good, long, while.
when is the flight report?
I believe it's Friday, but I didn't really pay much attention as I wasn't planning on going back when I was figuring out my schedule of GenCon events.
Here's my hope:
EotE Sourcebook = Hutt Space
Force and Destiny Beta
AoR Sourcebook = Engineer Career Field
X-Wing Miniatures = Epic Imperial Ships (Gozanti Cruiser and Lancer Frigate)
Here's my hope:
EotE Sourcebook = Hutt Space
I want this so badly, especially if it allows for PC Hutts!

I would travel to Minnesota in a hot second to have the babies of everyone in the FFG office if this came to pass.

I would prefer the Commodore book to be the first AOR Career book but I doubt that will happen and Engineer is my second choice.
